Heya....Sorry I haven't answered in a couple of days...my laptop screen broke. It took a few to find a monitor to hook it up to. Hi T2W, miss ya too! Church tonight...tonight starts revival. I've been ok for the most part for the last couple of days.
I see how it is, you start a thread that creates a hornets nest and you are off being just fine . . .
I have had enough of the UPC, pastors, preachers, teachers, people, bashing on this forum. Personal accountability matters. Quit blaming your problems on others and take responsibility for your spiritual problems.
cindy stop grieving me ............. however some of it is to blame those in the very same offices you have pointed out. spiritual abuse is still abuse, how can one take responisbility for such action?
a child who was abused at a early age carries those markes for years, are you gonna tell them to take responsibility for their problem. ofcourse not. You should be patient with those wounded worshippers as well.
I am praying for you. My only advice and it is sincere and serious is to ignore those on this thread urging you to take a break from church. The worst advice ever. If you will notice at least one of them giving it took a "break from church " years ago and is still on that break.
If your current church is not ministering to you effectively I am all for you finding one that will. Please just don't lose sight of the fact that the Bible clearly states that God gave us pastors, teachers ,etc for a reason.
More than ever when you are stressed you need spiritual support and guidance and most of all love from a local assembly of believers.
Best post I've ever read from you... you are so correct. God will never bless us doing something that is contradictory to His Word... and I agree, if this brother is not part of a local assembly that will bind together and intercede with him until there is a breakthrough, then he should be a part of one that will. I thank God for the times that when I was in a tail spin, there were members of the family of God to stand in the gap for me, intercede for me, and challenge me to keep on fighting even when the strength was almost gone.
The Mat... just realize, relief from the pain isn't necessarily always a sign that the situation is better. Those advising you to break from God's people and a local assembly where there is accountability and intercession will tell you since they took their break things got better is somehow evidence that it worked.... but that's just depending on feelings, emotions, and experience to dictate what is best.
Do that which is right in God's sight, honor His Word, depend upon it, and accept nothing less than exactly what God says is His Will for your life. Stand up in the enemy's face... and when your strength begins to fail, call on those that genuinely will intercede for you, and stand in the gap.
And that is even starting by those of us that right now are calling out for you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We agree together that the assignments made against you and your purpose in the Kingdom of cancelled in the name of Jesus... and we declare liberty, freedom, and peace over your heart and your mind... In Jesus Name!!!!!

They are hurt for a reason...
I realize everyone grieves at their own pace. But, we are also to be accountable to ourselves. I am very patient with many on this forum. I myself have been injured and chose to forgive. And mine was in a public manner.
We take responsibility for our actions and reactions. I realize we are all human, but God is our resource for life.

Bro, if you're trying to encourage her back to going to church, I don't think your tone is helping at all...just sayin'
For the record, she and her husband PASTORED a church, so it's not like she was just a member and then she does not want to go anymore.
They were ACTIVE in there. If she's not going right now, maybe she still needs times off to heal.
By the way, going to "church" does NOT mean you're in THE CHURCH
and not going to "church" does NOT mean you're NOT in THE CHURCH (by ONE Spirit, we are baptized into the CHURCH)
So instead of hammering her for what position she took, it'd be more helpful to consider her walk with the Lord. To see where she's at, to encourage her walk with the Lord, and then see where the Lord leads her as per gathering with other fellow believers...
It is because she is no novice, was a pastors wife AND has had YEARS to get beyond the hurt of the past enough to plug into a church that can feed her now that I have said what I have said. ILG and I go back a lot of years on this forum and the forum we were on prior to this one. She knows that for years I have had compassion on her past situation and understand what transpired. As a friend I am saying that at some point in time you have to stop letting the past dictate your future and be an excuse not to be in a church where you can be encouraged, discipled, taught, loved, etc. I have no apologies for what I have said.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Jesus is always the answer. Even for those who don't think so. Especially for those that don't think so.
Absolutely.
