I just read a great book by a nutritionist. I know a number of people who were CURED doing the things she says in this book. I have adopted some of her advice personally. Here is her website:

ILG,
For 30 years I've been keen on understanding ways to enhance health with a more educated diet, but provided it's not too inconvenient to follow. Example, started with the McDougal plan, circa 1978, which still infuences me today (and he's still pushing it today.) One problem is, we are naturally omnivores, therefore a dozen legitimate directions to go, (depending upon environment and genetics) all supported in some way or other, successful for someone or other. So I quit reading books about it. Could you please summarize the basic concepts you found in this book? Usually the "breakthroughs" of wisdom that diet philosophers require a whole book to explain can be be well summarized in a few sentences.
Thanks if you can,
ILG,

Her basic premise is that foul bile in your system causes a host of problems and also that the constant adrenalin rush we experience in our lives causes adrenal fatigue. Her suggestions are basically that we all take care of our adrenal glands by decreasing the adrenalin rushes in our lives. Often, we can't help a lot of it but can help some by getting adequate amounts of rest, (9 hours of sleep or rest per 24 hour period.....meaning laying with your eyes closed), cutting out foods that cause adrenalin rushes like coffee and sugar. And then, she is known as The Bean Queen. She advises eating tons of beans a day and if you cannot tolerate that to use psyllium husk fiber instead. The soluable fiber in these things (and you should use only pure psyllium husk not flavored, sugared stuff) cleans the foul bile out of your system. Fat binds to psyllium husk which takes many yucky things out of your system....cholesterol, hormones etc. She suggests eating beans 6 times a day for people with chronic health issues. The testimonials from people (and I have heard some in person) are amazing!

Just reading through her website now. Sounds very interesting - thanks for providing the link.
In what ways have you modified your diet, ILG?
I looked up her diabetes counseling session, and there isn't much left to eat after she is finished listing what NOT to eat!
Although I am sure that if any diabetic followed her plan, they would definitely lose weight, which couldn't be a bad thing...
I started with eating more beans daily for the last couple of weeks. After a few days, my whole body became sore. The nutritionist says that your body will have a reaction because you are having some withdrawl. I have noticed less adrenal fatigue (even though I have not cut out sugar completely I have craved it less). I am only taking her advice on the beans/psyllium husk for the most part but have been having good results with that.
I was getting my hair cut a while back and the woman told me that her husband was going to die from crohn's disease when he went to see this nutritionist. The dr had given him up for dead. He implemented this diet in full and is doing well today.

Thanks, what you describe is a repackaging of the McDougal plan, which I mentioned in my first post. Been doing (or at least believing in) this diet more or less for 30 years. Lately, just bought 700 lbs. of various species of dry beans (my first "prepper" action, as it's my normal diet anyhow.) I'm only suspicious of the "big bad bile" connection, but like Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye would tell each other in "White Christmas", "Everyone's gotta have an angle!"
