Folks, I'm not asking for a psychoanalysis of my theological position(s). Who or what I am is irrelevant to this particular discussion. I'm just looking for the experiences and viewpoints of those who are part of other organizations/fellowships.

Are you happy over there? Why? Or why not? Did you move from one organization/fellowship to another? How were you received? What kind of resources/support are available to an incoming member? What happened when you where no longer the new kid on the block and the reality of your new position set in? What are the central differences or stances that drew you in that direction? Is there anything you would want to say to someone who is searching for direction to pull them your way? How would you complete this sentence, "This is a great fellowship, but you should know _________"?

I would also welcome similar replies from those who are in the UPC and have no intention of leaving. I like to have balance and moderation in as many aspects of my life as possible.

This must be a more difficult topic to discuss than I thought. Or perhaps there's just too much other discussion to seriously write about it. According to the "alleged" letter by LLB, the Tulsa group will try not to be another "AMF." I have no idea what that means.

I'm just a little thadpole swimming around in this big 'ol puddle, and I'd really appreciate some insight before I transform into the wrong kind of croaker.

What area of the country are you in... What state or district?

I would venture to say that you are getting little response because the people on this board are UPC, ALJC, AMF, independent or don't attend an "Apostolic" church at all. While there are many oneness organizations, UPCI is the only one that is truly national (meaning that there are churches in every state) that I am aware of. (PAW might be also, not sure.) Most are small, regional organizations.

AMF is a more conservative group that broke away from the UPC because they wanted more local church sovereignty.

I think the meaning concerning the 'AMF' quote is this. The AMF has been veiwed as being very vocal anti-UPC and to some extent that is so. But I wouldlike to say to Elder Booker if they don't get dragged in to courts both civil and ecclesastical they have the AMF to thank. Not excusing any attitudes that might have been manifested by anyone however it is easy to sit in the bleachers and criticize when the org. is not trying to take your property or putting you name on the blacklist with adulters and such like. The AMF pulled the teeth of affiliation and it's power at a price to those involved.

I didn't think the AMF was in existence anymore...

It all depends if you think the UPCI is too conservative or too liberal!

If you think it's too liberal, the AMF or the Tulsa group should be to your liking.

If you think it's too conservative, GLOBAL or NCO might fit!
