Moderate consumptionist. We're given the choice of wine or grape juice in communion and I always take the wine.

I also keep a bottle or two in my fridge for weekends or to celebrate getting a bill paid off or something. A bottle can last a long time.

The only issue I have with this is that by giving this option we are being insensitive to Believers who may have once had battled with alcohol addiction...so being mindful of this, I think it would be prudent that only grape juice be offered.

This is my stance as well... and I will also state that the last alcohol I consumed was when I was in the 2nd grade.

When my dad quit that was it for me too.

Although there was that one time I felt a little woozy after eating a Mexican Apple Pie at an El Chico's in Arkansas.

Soo, answer this for me will someone??? I understand we should shun the appearance of evil....I got that part.... But why is it some will look down on you for buying alcohol to cook with but they order bourbon chicken at the restaurants???

For the same reason they will rent movies when they come out on DVD but then holler SATAN if someone sees the same movie on the big screen.

Welll... actually it isn't a sin if you watch on a screen that fits in your home and it isn't a sin if you watch it on an IMAX screen... it is just those theater sized screens that are a sin.

It is all really very complicated.

Right!!! I think people are scared. I mean, pastors really can't control what people do and I feel like they really want people to be saved. So instead of teaching people how to be balanced and how to be lead by the HolyGhost, it's easier to say "IT IS SIN STAY AWAY".
