You can 'totally disagree' with me all day long Mr. Sackett, but feel free to add some logic to your argument, sir. I'd love to hear the logic behind your argument.
Since you keep using the phrase "personal preference", let's be clear on what that phrase normally means:
Personal preference applies when you decide what you want for yourself.
When you impose your personal preference on someone else then it's gone beyond personal preference.
Maybe you might answer this question for me... When the "man of God" tells someone it's not God's will for them to marry someone else because of their racial differences, how is that personal preference? (Please explain sir.)

Sorry I had to cut it short. I knew that this type of reply was coming, but I had an urgent call that tied me up for a few minutes. I simply just hit reply and waited. (Then the call did not take that long.)
Personal preference would be just that: one's personal preferance. When I read that someone would rather individual's of different races not marry, yet not force it on them, then it is just that: personal preference.
I already know what you are going to say to this, but if you are not from around Louisiana and Mississippi, you really have no clue as to why a pastor would talk to someone about this. I know of no one that would NOT marry inidividuals due to race. I do know some that have already passed on that felt that way. I know of men that are trying their hardest to get black people in their church and cannot due to the history that exist in the south. There are still black churches and white churches. Whites do not feel comfortable in a black church and blacks do not feel comfortable in a white church. Yes, racism is very much a factor there. And for that reason, some men feel it better to not encourage interracial marriages.
Again, I know of no one that has not married an individual due to race alone.

Bro. Sackett,
Would you encourage interracial marriage between "white" and "black" saints?
I excluded myself from CAF for various reasons, and the alarming votes and bodily-harm threatening PM's played a role in my departure! I saved the lovely PM's my dearly beloved conservative brethren so craftily structured with such elegant verbiage.

Respectfully, it's your ignorance that assumes the insinuations you've repeatedly accused me of executing.

If degrading CAF were my intentions, why not begin the selfsame day I resigned? Please utilize valid criteria when presenting accusations.

Exactly! My departure wasn't based solely upon interracial marriage.

I can arrive to that conclusion without you verbalizing it, but I appreciate the confession. I forgive you, go a sin no more.

The people who " personally prefer" to not date out side of their race solely because of race are at the bare minimum bigots.
They are ensnared in the sin of bigotry and they need to repent of their attitudes that are not of God.

Re: To All CAF'ers, EA'ers, and AFF'ers
Wow,
You guys blow me away.
Bless God, If you don't embrace interracial marriage, your a Redneck, Hillbilly, Nazi, and anything else I case to call you because I can be prejudiced against you by claiming your prejudice.
And, I can fly it in the face of ALL the Bible that tells me that God has set the boundaries of the gentiles that they cannot cross.
And heaven forbid Arron becoming the High Priest because he stuck a spear through an Israelite in his tent: because that Israelite broke a commandment of God and took a wife of a different nation (family).
I attend an assembly that knows full well I don't believe in interracial marriage.
But, our assembly if full of interracial couples.
I am good friends with many of them, I just simply don't share their belief that it doesn't matter.
So, you guys can pretend your not spritural rednecks if you want, but this thread shows you are just as hateful and pre-judging as you accuse others of being.

Sir,
Righteousness is not situational. Righteousness is not relative.
Righteousness is righteousness and sin is sin, all day long.
You can put lipstick on a pig....

I am glad that God forgives you every time you ask Him tfor forgiveness for the things you know and don't know are sin. Maybe God has you there to work the purging of your heart from the sin of racial prejudice.
As a New Testament Christian, the Bible is really clear that in Christ, there are no differences of race.
Humbly, I have no stones to throw. God forgives us all, even when we don't know it.

Re: To All CAF'ers, EA'ers, and AFF'ers
"To All CAF'ers, EA'ers, and AFF'ers -"
The TITLE is indicative of to whom the post is addressed, not who is being indicted.
Why single out the "All CAF'ers" part? I didn't take the "ALL...AFF'ers" section of the title to mean that "All" or even "most" AFFers are opposed to interracial marriage. To borrow from Michael Phelps just yesterday...why the smoke screen? Address the issue and quit pretending that ICorinth brought up some false accusation.
I have encountered quite a bit of prejudice in the Apostolic church, from independent churches to moderate churches to liberal churches. And while it is sometimes veiled under a concern for the marital relationship or with the children, many times it is blatant, ugly and raw. And sometimes it is in the reverse. (e.g., black churches who don't really reach out to or accept white people)
This should NOT be the case in God's church. The ONLY prohibition is regarding a believer and unbeliever, and EVEN THEN...if a couple are married, God expects them to honor their covenant to one another.
I am surprised by the number of ministers who, in spite of professing diversity, still object to performing marriages with interracial couples. It is disheartening, to say the least. At the very least, they should show a bit more courage, and strive to be examples, rather than fearful of the foul opinions of racist saints. (I choked on that oxymoron.)

Ron,
Is your ancestry 100% Welsh?
Is your ancestry 100% Hungarian?
I'd venture to say that in your very own family there are people from different "families" who have married and now, by God's Grace, you are alive today.
So keeping with your "family" argument, the citizens of France are French. The citizens of the Czech Republic are Czech. The citizens of America are Americans.
An American should not marry a someone from the Czech Republic because they are of a different family.
Surely a white American and a Black American would have more in common with each other than a white American and a white Czech, right?
That's because they (the American and the Czech) are of different families, as you have said.
Ron, we are of the same family-- especially if we are Americans.
We are definitely of the same family, with God as our Father and Christ our Savior, if we are indeed saved.
So where does race come into play, when discussing "family"?

How does it matter? Or rather, in what way[s] does it matter?
