Found this on line.

Red and black licorice bites, ropes and twists

Pretzel sticks, large and small (good for fences, log piles)

Candy Pebbles (great for chimneys or accent on house front or back)

Lifesavers, melt them, pour out on wax paper, let harden and put behind your open windows for accent)

Hershey's chocolate bars, bread them into sections for shutters, walkways, etc

Chocolate chips (use for accent anywhere)

Round swirled red and white peppermint candies, use as accent around the house border, stack for a fence post

Ice Cream cones, cover in frosting for trees, use as turrets on the house
Crackers, use as walkways or shutters

Round cookies, use as whimsical accent, or as wheels if you have a cart, or as a round window accent

Flat almonds or other nuts, good roof material

Gum, cut into pieces for shingles or roofing material

Shredded Wheat, good for hay in a barnyard scene or roof material

Wafer cookies, build a porch, steps or walkway, shutters

Silver dragees (these are in the cake decorating aisle of your store) they are little silver balls, use for accent anywhere




Other candies to use as your imagination allows:
Gum drops
M & Ms
Red Hots
Chiclets
Wafers Candies (flat, round, old fashioned candies, wrapped in a wax paper wrapper)
Marshmallows (for snow piles, snowmen, etc.)
Little candy fruits (I've always wanted to do a market scene and use these somehow...)




OTHER IDEAS:
Add to your design by making a cart, animal cookies (you make and decorate), in a barnyard scene, snowmen, wood piles, a pile of presents in a sleigh.

For more ideas, just walk through the grocery store or a candy store and let your imagination go crazy!

Well I have searched the net and seen all kinds of houses and everything else gingerbread. lol

Now I need to get started and see what my first gingerbread house will look like.

I don't have the candy I wanted for the roof.
