Second question....do you really believe God is so petty that He holds tremendous revengeful grudges, in His unforgiveness, toward those who do not ask Him to forgive them.

What kind of sick, twisted and petty God is this anyway?
He commands us to love our enemies, to forgive 7 x 70 in one day, will He not do as He commands????

He condemned Israel for burning their children in a fire the killed them within minutes, will great passion and wrath. Will He do what He condemns??? IN AN INFINITELY MORE HORRIBLE MANNER???

Think about it folks, that's why you have a brain, don't accept the traditions of an apostate church. That is where the doctrine of endless conscience torture came from.

What's not to comprehend? It's there for all to see (read!), plain as day. Commit even the tiniest of infractions, burn forever. Simple.

Re: Does Hell make sense?

The bible says there is a hell and lake of fire, and gives absolutely no hope for anyone who winds up there. All that anyone can say otherwise is assumption and is based upon what they can or cannot imagine God doing to live up to Whom they think He is and what they think His disposition is. They have no solid grounds in the bible for recovery from the lake of fire.

I said it many times and will keep saying it, if the lake of fire is not conclusively damnation then the bible would have spent chapters on the topic, but it said nothing about such a thought. But that means nothing if someone wants to believe in something bad enough.

Even Balaam was told by God to not go and prophesy for Balak, but then after asking God a second time God gave him what he wanted... but Balaam did not end up the way he wanted.
Numbers 22:12 KJV And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.

Numbers 22:20-22 KJV And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do. (21) And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. (22) And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.
Anyone getting a hint out of all this that God will let you get what you want from His word, after having told you contrariwise once? If we want some word badly enough, after having been told no the first time, you can get it. But you will be sorry.

Gill on verse 20
and said unto him, if the men come and call thee, rise up, and go with them; this was said, as some think, not seriously, but sarcastically, or rather in an angry manner, bidding him go, if he would; so giving him up to his own heart's lusts

This God of the Bible is quite cruel, I guess you would say, huh? God is not at all what the Bible says, right Timmy? The bible is a pack of nonsense and error, right?

Well, isn't He? What would you say if I punished my son for taking a cookie without asking, by holding a candle flame to his hand for 20 seconds?

Oh no, not at all. God is full of unforgiveness and ultimately will torture me for not acknowledging Him properly. I'll serve Him through fear.

Nothing about love there.

I do not serve Him through fear like that at all. You missed how I said we cannot fathom his grace and love. Why a biased answer that avoids part of my comments? Behold the goodness and severity of the Lord. I guess some cannot think he has severity if he has goodness.

So, what is it? Would you serve God if you learned hell is as we claimed?
