Does God ever abandon a city or town???
Here is the scriptural basis for my question:
- Mark 6:1-6 - Jesus was unable to do any mighty works in his hometown
- Mark 8:22-23, Matthew 11:20-22 - Jesus once brought a man outside of a cursed city to heal him
- Acts 16:6-7 - The Spirit stopped Paul from entering into certain areas to preach the Gospel
I know that any person can be saved anywhere, anytime as long as they completely obey the Word of God and its plan for salvation.... my question is in the context of a city/town where God has called a preacher to be a beacon of light; will God ever abandon a city or town and pull His preacher out leaving it with noone??? Through the years, I have heard of smaller cities/towns being completely abandoned when a pastor would feel "called" elsewhere and noone else would come to fill the gap....
will God ever abandon a city/town to its own wickedness or will He always call another preacher to come and fill the vacancy??? any thoughts???
