How about putting down the fork, cleaning up your tounge and what you say about others.
Stop the white lies.
Having a true understading of the fear of God.
The fear of God is not the fear of going to hell for cutting your hair.
It is the fear that you need to walk in the spirit.
So many Pentecostal christians believe being in the spirit only means.
Talking in tounges at the alter.
Walk in the spirit all day long.
Then you might catch the holiness of God.

So does this mean you are now a Lutheran?
Please forgive this statement if you are offended by it, but what's with all the hostility? Was it that bad?
Cheer up, Jesus loves you!

Amen to that and the NT also speaks of dressing modest - did they dress modest in the OT - yes - and also in the NT.
I don't know how in the world a woman claiming to be apostolic could dress immodestly; that is out of the word and therefore a bad example to a world that lies in wickedness. That is a light that does NOT need to be shown to the world.
An apostolic woman should identify with the holy bride of Christ and NOT with the whore in the book of Revelation...
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Kinda reminds me of the following scripture...
Isa 3:16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Isa 3:17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
Isa 3:18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
Isa 3:19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
Isa 3:20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
Isa 3:21 The rings, and nose jewels,
Isa 3:22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
Isa 3:23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the veils.
Isa 3:24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

manifest in and through that person. The spirit of holiness is not what we do, but
what we allow Him to do in and through our bodies, the temple of the Living God.
Our temple will reflect HIS GLORY! That is when He comes to be glorified in His saints!
2Thess.1:10.
God was glorified in His Son and He wanted to bring many sons/daughters to glory, so
He sent Jesus (The Word) to show and tell us how. When He came, he not only showed
us how but gave instructions on what to do after He went back to (being)the
Father.
The Father poured down His Spirit from on high, on all who would believe, obey and receive
it. He continues to do so today.
Don't expect to be holy until you are Wholly HIS! Body, soul and spirit! Let's present
our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him, which is our reasonable
service. And be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing our
our minds, that we may PROVE what is that good, and acceptable and perfect, will of
GOD.
Incidentally there is something missing. "Follow peace with all men and
holiness without....".
Blessings,

Amen.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
We are NOT our own - we have been bought with a price.
Presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to the Lord is our REASONABLE service - not unreasonable.
God's church does NOT conform to this world. Get the world out of the church!
God's people do NOT need the help of Egypt.
Isa 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Only God is holy, and separation from the world does not make you holy, makes you look like a freak with an attitude.
The evidences of holiness in a person’s life is not speaking in tongues, shaving, wearing long sleeves and living by the UPC Articles of Faith.
The evidences that you have the Holy Ghost is the fruit of the Spirit.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
I know in the UPC we have always been taught that the evidence of the Holy Ghost is speaking in tongues, and I have seen people who were good tongue talkers, but did not have the fruit. The evidences that you have received the Holy Ghost maybe speaking in tongues, but 5 years later all you are doing is speaking in tongues and there is no fruit, it might be a sign that you don’t have the Holy Ghost like you think.
We also have been taught that the way we dress and separation from the world shows how holy we are, and there are women who will not cut their hair and men who will not grow beards, but there is no evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. I have grown up around people that dress holy, but have nasty, filthy attitudes.
So what is real holiness? It can only come from God, can not be fabricated or passed on to the next generation through our Articles of Faith or religious traditions.

Tongues is the INITIAL evidence when one WAS filled with the Holy Ghost. I totally agree that just because one speaks with tongues, it does NOT guarantee that they still got the Spirit and have the fruit. But I do believe that if they do have the fruit, that they should speak in tongues every know and again - at least.
The Spirit left Samson and he didn't even know it.
Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
1 Cor 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not
Paul said tongues are - PRESENT TENSE - a sign to unbelievers
You better be in a church that HAS the sign to unbelievers - otherwise, go find a church that does.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Every single one - no exceptions - that is born of the Spirit is like the wind, u dont know where its coming from and where it is going, but u hear the sound thereof. A sound will accompany EVERY ONE that is born of the Spirit; in Acts it was tongues.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Notice "the" gift of the Holy Ghost, not "a" gift of the Holy Ghost - the promise of the Father ( Joel 2)
How did the jews know that on the gentiles was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost?
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Acts 10:46 - For - Strong's Concordance - A primary particle; properly assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles)
The reason why the Jews knew that the Gentiles had rec'd "the" gift of the HOly Ghost was because they heard them speak with tongues

Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Another interpretation I heard of this verse is - how shall men see the Lord in you if you don't follow peace with all men and holiness.
Men look on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.
So since men look on the outward appearance, how shall men see the Lord in you, if you don't follow peace with all men and holiness?

You are absolutely correct!
But who's standards? I believe there ARE standards if everyone asks the question of "What would Jesus do?" and "will this edify my brother?" before doing/wearing/going somewhere.
But ALL the problems come when trying to codify and put them into print.

Pro 24:21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
Pro 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
Since in the OT the King was the anointed leader of God's people, and since in the NT we still have anointed leaders of God's people, could it be that even now in God's church, God has the heart of anointed leaders in his hand and that he can do with it whatever he wants to?
Incidentally, it was not the oil that caused a person to be anointed, it was the Spirit of God that came on them after they were anointed with oil. What I mean is just because a man anoints another man with oil, it doesn't mean that God has necessarily chosen that man to be anointed by HIM. Its HIS chosing, not man's. But don't get me wrong, I still believe in anointing a man with oil.

Just because men in hats and suits that we call our "fathers" said it is?
Standards are practical examples of institutionalism.
