Greetings to you all, just curious have any of you ever heard this song?
Why do you bob your hair, girls?
You're doing mighty wrong;
God gave it for a glory
And you should wear it long .
You spoil your lovely hair, girls,
You keep yourself in style;
Before you bob your hair, girls,
Just stop and think a while.
Why do you bob your hair, girls?
It is an awful shame
To rob the head God gave you
And bear the flapper's name.
You're taking off your covering,
It is an awful sin;
Don't never bob your hair, girls,
Short hair belongs to men.
Why do you bob your hair, girls?
It does not look so nice;
It's just to be in fashion,
lt's not the Lord's advice.
And every time you bob it
You're breaking God's command
You cannot bob your hair, girls
And reach the Glory land.
Why do you bob your hair, girls?
It's not the thing to do;
Just wear it, always wear it,
And to your Lord be true.
And when before the judgment
You meet your Lord up there,
He'll say, "Well done, for one thing,
You never bobbed your hair.

Judges 16:24-30 (King James Version)
24And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
25And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
26And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
27Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
28And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
29And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
This has reached its end. When we stoop to implying that someone serves another God, and dragging another mans Pastor through the mud, we have ceased discussing, and have started attacking. This thread is closed for the night. A few more posts will disappear, and admin will take action. Some of you simply should have logged out and went to bed early tonight.

Once again a lack of "ethics" to post public information? Not rumor nor innuendo; then I would concur with lack of ethics, but posting what is de facto a public government document MAY (depending on the circumstance) be a lack of manners, but seriously, lack of ethics?
For example I could post the public information about the civil lawsuit the gentleman in question is invovled in, in Alabama. But not doing so would be a constraint of judgment, not ethics.

Uncut hair on women is a Bible standard. We (my wife and I) believe it, live it and preach it.

I'm proud of who my Grandparents are and what they taught me.
My Grandpa always said "Son if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." so I'm glad I can stand for something and know what I believe in instead of being wishy-washy like so many others.
Furthermore regardless of your derogatory comments toward my raising and Grandparents, I'm ever so thankful for it.

Oh for sure. My church that I grew up in never sang this but CG introduced us to it about 15 years ago now. You just add anything in it you want to. It was usually sang according to what someone was doing that they shouldn't be doing, that they were not repenting for. We don't sing that song as a worship song ...
Our worship songs consist of songs out of the Sing Unto The Lord hymnal and chorus like
"One, one, one, one way to God, one, one, one, one way to God, one, one, one, one way to God; baptized in Jesus Name!"
"Jesus on the mainline tell Him what you want"
"Satisfied, satisfied, oh He said He'd be my comforter, He said He'd be my guide, been baptized in Jesus Name, spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came every since that wonderful day my soul's been satisfied"
And many other old time Pentecostal songs.
These songs are songs that I call 'Me, Me, Me...I, I, I' songs.
It's all about me. What can God do for me.

I think you are right, Sis - on adding verses as you went along and making it match who is sitting in the congregation. Also, you are correct on the part about the women.
For instance, let's say a woman with a RED mini skirt is in the congregation. It might have gone something like this:
:musicnotesThere's a sister in the church. (OH MY LORD)
Wears red mini-skirts (OH MY LORD)
What shall we do?
Give the sister a long skirt.
And let the church roll on,
Let the church roll on.:musicnotes
Or if there is a man with a beard in the congregation.
It might have gone something like this:
:musicnotesThere's a brother in the church. (OH MY LORD)
Wears a beard (OH MY LORD)
What shall we do?
Take the razor, shave the beard.
And let the church roll on,
Let the church roll on.:musicnotes
It was an "as you see it" sing about it song.
I think you're right.
I don't wear mini-skirts and I believe in modesty but I don't think we should be so "in-your-face" about what we believe...At least NOT in a song. Let the preacher preach what he believes as standards. Let's not have singers try to "skin fish before they are caught" as we say sometimes.

AMEN!!!
The preaching of the Word is what saves anyway. Also we should not pick our sermons based on what we see in the crowd. God knew who would be there when he told you what to preach that night. If he wanted you to deal with the issues you see in people he would have told you in prayer before hand.

I could tell you true stories about how singers used to try to "straighten out" visitors in the congregation with the preacher not even knowing what was going on.
Once there was a lady who used to sing, "Did you let your light shine?"...Can't remember all the words, but the singer would always get down and look directly into the person's eyes that she thought was not letting her light shine. This caused confusion. Maybe the person she was singing to was not living all she should outside the church but there was no reason for the singer trying to "line up" the visitor. By the way, the visitor wasn't me and I knew the visitor was not living as she should - but I hated seeing this made into a spectacle. People would even request that the singer sing this song as a special. I felt this might have been done purposely to make the other person uncomfortable. Maybe not everytime - but there was some vindictiveness and malice behind it because I heard comments after church. How grievious was that?

I wonder how some folks think they can justify their actions on judgement day.

I wonder how some folks think they can justify their actions on judgement day.
I think they will be speechless. We've all sinned. I hope they've asked forgiveness from Him - but sometimes I wonder how forgiveness works when others don't ask forgiveness from the ones they've wronged. A person will have no excuse on judgment day if they have not lived for God - but people could make it so much easier on other people by loving them instead of hurting them. The simplicity of the gospel is something that would be so easy if we'd just do it. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Put Jesus first, others second, yourself last. So simple.

Oh I know! Its unreal! I remember one night about a week before hubby and I married... He had left his car at my house when he went out offshore that time because the engine died on it... and the next Sunday there was a sermon about whores and about living together before marriage and all this stuff! I was kind of lost during the sermon because I KNEW we werent... then he came and stood right in front of me and said these persons NEED TO REPENT AND GET YOUR LIFES RIGHT!! and pointed straight at me!
Well... this church was 99% my husbands family and after half of the church found out (before me I might say) that he was referring to us... boy was he in for a surprise!
He got a call from his DS.... letting him know that he knew where my husband was and where the car was and he better back down! It was very comical once it all came to a head..

I would think all 6 members of the 'bama church knows that song by heart!!
Ya think?
The men's quartet might sing, "If there's hair on your ears, there's sin in your heart. Get it cut today, and make a new start........"

Unbelievable!
In some churches, the pastors are like quarterbacks......they call audibles at the line!
In this case, however, the line is the pulpit, and the pastor may be prepared to preach about grace, until a sinner woman walks in with earrings and pants on........and THEN, at the last minute, the old "holiness" sermon comes out of the back of the Bible!

That is so true, God has taken care of that pastor very well I might add... his church went from a faithful 150 or so to about 15 now... The next service he preached about my husbands cousin who had been "he said cutting her hair" what he didnt know is she was on 15 meds for a heart transplant she had about 5 yrs earlier and her hair wouldnt grow! Felt real stupid again he did!

You know I went to a church and they had this tear jerking music playing and all these people were swaying back and forth with the music.
The church was mostly women and the men were those sensitive types who dabble in promise keepers. I was brought into this faith by a bunch of shouting and screaming tongue talkin, and pew jumpin, people, and there were women who wore long dresses and their men had long sleeves and no one wore any jewelry!

Don't you ever get smacked in the back of the head by those who are clapping behind you? Don't the people in the restaurants after service wonder why you are the only one of your church group who is NOT sweating?

Actually it always sang at camp meeting ... everyone loved it you know. One church in particular in Florida, when I go preach for them, they always ask me to sing "It's All In Him" and "Why Do You Bob Your Hair Girls?" ... and well, last time I was there I sang "WDYBYHG?" and one of the brothers got up and started running around the church. LOL ... Glory!
It begs the question...these folks worship Jesus, or hair length? Hard to imagine that you use this song for Praise and Worship!!!

So get to going and run those pews, jump up in worship tomorrow and shout!
JESUS!!!!!!
And that means.... what? So you are the individual who is nodding off during the preaching and when the praise and worship resumes you are swaying back and forth while people are running the backs of the pews, and people are clapping behind you? Don't you ever get smacked in the back of the head by those who are clapping behind you? Don't the people in the restaurants after service wonder why you are the only one of your church group who is NOT sweating?
Oh no..I'm the one who's squirming and wishing the floor would open up during preaching. At least most services still it's that way. (I've only been back in church since June...it's been a crash course in fixing what got broke in 8 years out of the church) I don't stand out quite as much as you think...I'm in a tiny, new, home missions church. The pastor's family, and his parents, are the only ones attending who've been in the church for longer than a year. Then me who was in the past and went out wandering for awhile.
And I sit in the back. lol WAY in the back. I'm the only one on that side even..all the way in the back.
I don't go out to eat after church with anyone from church..well not at all. Never been asked and too broke to bring it up or just go do it with my kids.
Oh you will, your pastor has your number and he will pray for you to get some shout in your shoes.
Oh you know he does. I know he does. I'm still not planning on ever running or shouting tyvm.
Your past? Forget that, that's your problem, you need to get over the excuses and shout and dance and run when you feel the Holy Ghost wanting you to get up and move. Scream AMEN, when you feel that preacher drill right through you. Come on let it go and sing some of those songs that were posted here tonight. You will love it.
Oh no..by my past I mean what sort of services I used to go to, what sort of preaching I heard, what sort of worship meetings I attended, what sort of prayer meetings I was at and the home church services I went to and....

You know, I really don't get around to those carnal churches as much as some do. But is the "skirt split" really such a problem that we need to devote congregational singing to the issue?
It's no wonder that so many of our young people are saying how they're "sick" of the way church is being done. And the popularity of the so-called "vertical" songs that magnify God and not the ladies and their curvy figures.
The songs people sing in worship really does say a lot about where their thoughts and hearts are focused.

I strongly believe that people express themselves different ways and that not everyone runs, shouts and dances just because that is the way they express themselves. A lot of people do it because people will judge them if they don't.
The only time I have ever shouted in exhilaration was when I went skydiving and I had to force myself to shout then because it seemed to be the thing you were supposed to do.

There's 30ish people there at every service now. We're up from 15 when I started going (and my family is 5 of those...)
And honestly I don't care what it looks like to anyone else. *I* got dragged into this (by God) kicking and screaming and it's taking some time for things to be set right again. That said, thanks for the push. These words, "Are you going back to a relationship with God or looking for somewhere to hang out on a Sunday morning? Jump into the middle of that thing and help the preacher out." might just keep me up tonight.
You asked what my reason is for sitting in the back. When I first started going to church, it was because I had 4 kids who'd never been in church and had to do some teaching on how to act. We're not quite past that, 2 of them have it down and now sit in the front with the youth, the other two can be oh my some services. Thankfully they usually take turns.
Now though? I sit in the back because I'm still holding myself out at the edge of things. I'm learning, and unlearning, some things but I'm still terrified of jumping in and trusting God. I know this, and I'm working on it...well God is at least. I really do feel like I'm mostly along for the ride. It's been one rough journey so far and I can't catch my breath. I am learning to let go...slowly. It's even harder to catch my breath when I fight with God.

So what are you doing about this, what is your focus? Are you busy doing that thing that will get people baptized in Jesus name? Are you working with young people? If so then keep at it and go forward and pray them through.
If you don't believe anything that I have said or stated here then don't ever walk into any place that I would be preaching. Listen, it's not that bad, you keep pounding the pavement and I will do the same.
You win people to what your doing and I will win them with what I know.
I brought up a Brother who sung that "split skirt" song at his church.
His people loved it and the visitors didn't have a problem with it. So I guess it's the preacher's business and if he is winning souls in his area, then God bless him.
I'm not aware of any Apostolics who sing songs devoted to "Trinitarianism." We do sing songs written by people who are or were at least nominally Trinitarian, but then again, so do you. So, what's the problem with these songs?

We can not change our doctrine. We can not change the message of being seperated from the world. Those things are Bible based and can not be changed.
However, songs from 50 years ago need to be updated to more modern worship songs. I am not totally against the old songs but lets have a balance. The elders still like the old hymns, but the youger generation can't relate them as much, especially if they were not raised in church. Paul said, I become all things to all men. Why can't we become a little more modern to reach this generation?

Hey ever been in a church where they tell the person being baptized that they have to get rid of their television and jewelry and make sure to get rid of ungodly clothes before they go under? Well, it happens and churches grow and people speak in tongues and people run out the doors, and people run into the church past the people running out.

"Slow moving?" Is it the tempo you dislike? And if it's "tear-jerking" then I'd say it's getting people focused on Jesus.
I appreciate what you say about "pounding the pavement" and all. The only problem I have is that I meet a lot of people who have been through a spiritual meat-grinder that some would call an "Apostolic" church. Winning their trust and helping them toward healing is a tough job.

People are getting saved and enjoying themselves, while you are running out the door and standing in the parking lot.
A broken clock is also right at least twice a day, yet I would rather have one that is working.

I appreciate what you say about "pounding the pavement" and all. The only problem I have is that I meet a lot of people who have been through a spiritual meat-grinder that some would call an "Apostolic" church. Winning their trust and helping them toward healing is a tough job.
It is.

I preached in one 1 time and vowed to NEVER go back. That is totally against how Jesus did people.
Not one time did Jesus clean them up before he saved them! He always spoke to the sinner in love.
Where do we get the idea that we must clean them up before we baptize them? The preachers that run people off from these places will have blood on their hands on judgement day.

I notice that there are no "1st Century Apostolic" hymns being sung in the church today. What changed? Why can't we sing some of those old standards?
It seems "the church" has always been changing its style of worship.

No, it's just the lay of the land. It doesn't infer that anything is necessarily wrong with the Christian faith. We just need to take a look at the bigger picture and not get caught in doomsday fads that have been sweeping over us since even before Jesus Christ came into the world.
But I trust that you know that. It's probably one thing that we do agree on.http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

The people would be watching you run out the door, and then go back to singing with their preacher and having a good time. :)

You have NOT answered my question.
I again ask this question for the third time:
If preachers are telling singers to sing songs about split skirts and they are doing it, what is on everyone's mind during the singing of that song more - the split skirts or Jesus?
.......I would not leave the church while that song was being sung. What I meant about leaving is that I would not care to stay (continue to attend) at a church where a song like that is sung. You put the "run out the door" part in. I didn't.... From reading your posts, you are one to jump to conclusions and try to second guess people. So ridiculous to make statements about me running out and standing in a parking lot. We are not all stereotypes of who you think we are. Most of us on here are probably God-fearing, ethical, respectable, honest and sincere Oneness folks who come here for a little fun.
You cautioned others about being personal with Caston Smith and you try to personalize matters with anyone who responds to your posts in anyway that doesn't agree with you 100%. Brother, you really need to get a grip. I have no argument with you. Please don't try to pick one with me.
I attend a church where the gospel is preached very conservatively as you mentioned but all of this singing about splits is not part of our worship.
GOOD NIGHT.
I don't care for some of those songs however.....they did serve a purpose.
Itused to be that a lot of songs were used to teach something. LIke it or not, these songs accomplished that purpose.

The ONLY thing these song accomplish is to make the singers feel self righteous.
They don't "teach" anything to anyone.
They only give glory to the person singing them and make them feel "more saved" for not being like the heathen who may be sitting somewhere behind them -but probably not after a song like these.

The larger culture in the US and in the West in general is trending toward degeneration right now, however these things do go in cycles. They always have.
I do believe that things go in cycles and believe that "religion" slows the cycle of moral decay... but the cycle is inevitable, and has been repeated since the beginning of time.
What I DON'T know is what causes the cycle to start its upward movement again... for example, what exactly caused Western society to turn around after the free-love stuff from the late 60's and early 70's. Was it STD's that caused this change, or religion, or some other cultural phenomenon?
I was considering starting a thread on this but already started one today so this is a good opportunity to bring it up. :)

I would like to believe that it's the Spirit of God. But in the practical application of human affairs it's probably a complex mix of things.
When our culture was starting to climb up a bit from the nonsense of 60's and 70's several things happened at once.
America elected a strong moral leader in Ronald Reagan.
A new STD was ravaging portions of the promiscuous population.
And rather tellingly, at that same time the "glam rocker" David Bowie stopped recording for a while because, as he said at the time, "I was making myself sick with the things I was doing..."
People can really get sick of the degeneration around them, even "degenerate" people. We need to provide a voice of reason and love for when they do. If they turn to the church and see a bunch of angry rednecks they may feel that there's no alternative to the degeneration. And that's when societies die.

So, on the flip side I guess they should walk 10 miles to church on bloody kneecaps while beating their chests. I got it! Listen how about if they make the church really dark and, maybe just light candles in red glass holders, maybe the preachers could dress all in black and recite prayers in Latin.
They could also hand out small whips to the people and have the people repeat, "we are not worthy, we are not worthy, we are not worthy."
Just remember that those old songs do teach something, they teach that there are people out there that snivel every time they are sung. :)

I think this one is more appropriate:
As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain
I take a look at my wife and realize she's very plain
But that's just perfect for an Amish like me
You know, I shun fancy things like electricity
At 4:30 in the morning I'm milkin' cows
Jebediah feeds the chickens and Jacob plows... fool
And I've been milkin' and plowin' so long that
Even Ezekiel thinks that my mind is gone
I'm a man of the land, I'm into discipline
Got a Bible in my hand and a beard on my chin
But if I finish all of my chores and you finish thine
Then tonight we're gonna party like it's 1699
We been spending most our lives
Living in an Amish paradise
I've churned butter once or twice
Living in an Amish paradise
It's hard work and sacrifice
Living in an Amish paradise
We sell quilts at discount price
Living in an Amish paradise
A local boy kicked me in the butt last week
I just smiled at him and turned the other cheek
I really don't care, in fact I wish him well
'Cause I'll be laughing my head off when he's burning in hell
But I ain't never punched a tourist even if he deserved it
An Amish with a 'tude? You know that's unheard of
I never wear buttons but I got a cool hat
And my homies all I agree I look good in black... fool
If you come to visit, you'll be bored to tears
We haven't even paid the phone bill in 300 years
But we ain't really quaint, so please don't point and stare
We're just technologically impaired
There's no phone, no lights, no motorcar
Not a single luxury
Like Robinson Caruso
It's as primitave as can be
We been spending most our lives
Living in an Amish paradise
We're just plain and simple guys
Living in an Amish paradise
There's no time for sin and vice
Living in an Amish paradise
We don't fight, we all play nice
Living in an Amish paradise
Hitchin' up the buggy, churnin' lots of butter
Raised a barn on Monday, soon I'll raise another
Think you're really rightous? Think you're pure in heart?
Well, I know I'm a million times as humble as thou art
I'm the pious guy the little Amlettes wanna be like
On my knees day and night scorin' points for the afterlife
So don't be vain and don't be whiny
Or else, my brother, I might just have to get medieval on your heinie
We been spending most our lives
Living in an Amish paradise

Hi Caston. I don't know what NYLP is getting at, but it could be that he's jesting with you because of the way you slandered that church in Pensacola, FL.
And, BTW, while "libel is against the law..." most private citizens posting on Internet forums don't qualify for protection. However, justice does have a way of being meted out if we're all patient enough to wait for it.

Hey, Nahkoe and I can have church right here in the midst of "bobbed hair confusion"...Here's one of my favorites to sing to myself when I am really down. This song is called "Praise His Name"...
:musicnotes
When you're up against a wall, and your mountain seems so tall
And you realize life's not always fair.
You can runaway and hide, let the old man decide
Or you can change your circumstances with a prayer
When everything falls apart - praise His name
When you have a broken heart - raise your hands and say
Lord You're all I need, You're everything to me, and He'll take the pain away
When it seems you're all alone, praise His name
When you feel you can't go on, just raise your hands and say
Greater is He that is within me, and you can praise the hurt away
If you'll just praise His name
I know you can overcome by the blood of the Lamb
By the work of your testimony
You'll see the darkness go as your faith begins to grow
You're not alone, so how can you be lonely? When you're up against a wall, and your mountain seems so tall
And you realize life's not always fair.
You can runaway and hide, let the old man decide
Or you can change your circumstances with a prayer

You have NOT answered my question.
I again ask this question for the third time:
If preachers are telling singers to sing songs about split skirts and they are doing it, what is on everyone's mind during the singing of that song more - the split skirts or Jesus?
They are thinking of Jesus and how great they are feeling at that very moment, it's the guy or gal walking out in a huff, who is thinking of something else. :pirate
.......I would not leave the church while that song was being sung. What I meant about leaving is that I would not care to stay (continue to attend) at a church where a song like that is sung.
Hey, that's totally cool, why stay anywhere that's not custom tailored to what you want. 31 FLAVORS you have your pick in America. There's a very interesting book out you should look at it's called "Shopping for God"
http://www.amazon.com/Shopping-God-Christianity-Went-Heart/dp/0743292871
You put the "run out the door" part in. I didn't.... From reading your posts, you are one to jump to conclusions and try to second guess people.
No, it must be from all the laughter that I'm doing as I'm answering a post.
Listen who ever you are, I don't take this stuff personally, I am writing other material while I answer posts, and not trying to get anyone flipped out.
If you're offended just say "Evang.Benincasa you're offending me" and I will apologize and move on. Look you're not even using your name; I haven't the foggiest idea who or what you are, so please forgive me if I'm having too much fun. Again, this is not personal so don't take it that way. :)
So ridiculous to make statements about me running out and standing in a parking lot.
Yes, it is ridiculous, and you win a cookie, we are talking about a church singing songs that they like and have fun with. If you don't like what a certain congregation does, then you are more than welcome not to darken their door way ever again. They would probably miss you and wonder why the fuss over their song, but you are free to do as you please. Also the beauty of this country allows all men and women to have freedom to worship as they please. God bless America.
We are not all stereotypes of who you think we are.
Then use that thought when dealing with those who sing those songs.
Most of us on here are probably God-fearing, ethical, respectable, honest and sincere Oneness folks who come here for a little fun.
Who said they weren't? Let's no make this something it's not, shall we?
You cautioned others about being personal with Caston Smith and you try to personalize matters with anyone who responds to your posts in anyway that doesn't agree with you 100%. Brother, you really need to get a grip.
It would seem to me that it's you who needs to hold on. No problem on this end. :)
I have no argument with you.
Everyone has an argument, but not everyone has to fight.
We can argue and do it without problems. We can also be humerous while we are at it. We can shoot from the hip and not hurt each other. If you're being offended then I'm sorry, people do things for different reasons. Just as fast as you say that I come off wrong when people are not seeing it my way 100% then where do you come off having any comment about the "split skirt" song in the first place? That's what I think is so silly, you're making a judgement against those who would sing those songs in their worship?
Doesn't that place you in the position that you claim that I'm putting myself in?
Please don't try to pick one with me.
Pick one how? You made a statement and I answered it. You said you would leave a church that would sing such a song and I had fun with that.
What's the problem? You made a judgement and I made a judgement.

I attend a church where the gospel is preached very conservatively as you mentioned but all of this singing about splits is not part of our worship.
Bravo! So while you are in your church on Sunday know that the Brother who started this thread may be singing the Bobbed Hair song in his church.
While you are speaking in tongues in your place of worship, he will speaking in tongues in his place of worship. Everyone will be blessed and no one will have to leave after the singers sit down. :)

I like that song
Sometimes I feel as though I am up against the wall...and the mountain sure seems tall .......and all of us know that life is not always fair....but we have to keep praising Him. It's not optional. Forgiveness is not optional. If we love Him, we will keep His commandments - no matter how life is treating us.

Hey, Nahkoe and I can have church right here in the midst of "bobbed hair confusion"...Here's one of my favorites to sing to myself when I am really down:
When everything falls apart - praise His name
When you have a broken heart - raise your hands and say
Lord You're all I need, You're everything to me, and He'll take the pain away
When it seems you're all alone, praise His name
When you feel you can't go on, just raise your hands and say

Oh wow. I've never heard that song before. Do you have a title so I can try to find it to listen to it?
I will bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually be in my mouth
My soul shall make her boast in Thee, Lord
The humble shall hear thereof and be glad
Oh magnify the Lord with me
And let us exalt His name together
I sought the Lord and He heard me
And delivered me from all my fears
Can you say diatribe, EB? Breath.

I live about 8 miles from the Florida line, and visit Pensacola often. If we want to go to a Mall, or somewhere good to eat. That's where we go ... plus our church and the Pcola church have connections with each other.

okay, the subject has changed but anyway...I am offended. I am a "con" but I think songs like this are mindless. It does nothing to glorify GOD. I think you should refer to these "cons" that gloat in their standards as contentious cons... I am still conservative meaning, I do not cut my hair, wear pants or make-up... I believe those are biblical (not asking for debate here). However, I believe that these preachers that are fighting all the time are doing as much an injustice to God as these that are compromising the Word of God... They are not "standing up for holiness", but rather they are causing division... they are contentious cons...

Bro. Benincasa would you preach for a trinity church and not mention doctrine difference the first time?
Just so you know I would. I would like to make friends with them. After I am their friend and have their confidence I can work with the pastor. If I win the pastor I have a really good chance of winning the church. If I go in on the first night and preach against the trinity on the first night I will make everyone mad and then they may never come to truth.

Actually, I was speaking of the "liberal vs conservative". I know of preachers who believe the same doctrine but will fight because now someone can advertise on tv....which is not biblical. Men will take issue with a UPC preacher just because he "holds the license" but yet they believe the same.... So I see men wanting to fight rather than preach the real word..... I don't care what all you "don't" do, if you are one of these preachers who like to fight, then you are just as guilty as any other sinner!!!!!!!!

Here's how it works in my head. I believe that it pleases God when I do not wear pants. I don't believe "women should wear pants". I believe all should strive to please God, and that God will lead us into a place as we seek Him where we are pleasing Him. Since it's not an issue of "should" or "should not" fellowshipping with women who do wear pants is not an issue for me.
