I don't think so.

No. The answer is those who wanted Jesus dead were the religious righteous people of that day.
THAT is who the world was to Jesus. That is who crucified Jesus. The Pharisees of the day were the highest order of people espousing a love for God. Yet they were the very ones who killed him.

I have to add that they hated him because he taught a different doctrine than the chief Priests and Pharisees taught. They loved their lofty positions and was not about the give their religious positions up...even for the God they claimed to have worshipped. You see...they did not really believe God at all because they feared the Romans might take away their power over the nation...and of course the nation itself.
47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for
this man doeth many miracles.
48
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the
Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

John 11:47-53)
So...they set Jesus up. Things like this happen even today. What they did not know was that Jesus knew what they were going to do, for He said in
John 10:
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
