Me too!
We got an ATT family plan over 10 years ago when the boys were going off to college. To us, them being able to stay in touch was worth everything, so we sacrificed for them to have cell phones. When my middle son graduated and got a good job he bought me my first iPhone. I loved it from the fist minute. Don coveted one for years... and the kids went in on one for him for his 50th birthday (we have five grown kids). I thought he'd lose it for sure but he never did. We are grandfathered in to a $20/mo plan for unlimited data and text. So we pay that above our rate plan which is so low it does not exist anymore either. I am always one version behind whatever the current version is because I buy my phones on craigslist when a new one comes out and all the gotta-have-the-newest-thing folks get new phone-toys.
Don gets my old phone which is fine for him because he never does anything with it but call, text and use the camera. If he were to lose his phone now we would simply reactivate his last model, all of which are in a drawer... He still has them all the way back to the original V1 iPhone.
So I spend $70 a month for two phones with unlimited everything pretty much... technically not minutes but we have more than we ever use with about 4K in rollover. Up till my mom died and my son graduated this year it was 4 phones for $90/mo. Every other year or so I spend $100 on a new iPhone version and I haven't had a contract in years so could change my mind in an instant if a better deal came along... but so far... well... that hasn't happened so iPhone it is.
The kids think I should get a Droid because they are so much cooler.
