I think maybe there might be too much emphasis put on the word Apostolic.

Why not just say I'm a born again Christian?
Because to many "apostolics" that is a very trinitarian thing to say.

You are probably right.

Then they could say I'm a born again Christian, baptized in Jesus name and spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came!

That's too bad, but I care more about what Jesus thinks of me, than what people think of me.

St. Matthew,
When I think about Acts 2:38 it reminds me of something the Lord showed me years ago - we have to often come into His presence so that He can fill us with love in order to reach out to others in love. We cannot extend Christian love without spending much time in God's presence.

The world has a way of making inroads in our hearts. The only way to clear our minds and hearts is Psalms 91:1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

The "secret place" is His presence. This is going on to perfection/maturity.

My two cents....

Re: Theres More To Being "Apostolic" Than Acts 2:3

OK St Matt. In the context of this forum and most places non-Catholic, Apostolic means Apostolic in doctrine, or simply Oneness Pentecostal.

So practicing Acts 2:38 as interpreted by OPs would by definition place one as being "Apostolic".
