He has served 8 years (2 terms) and reached the end of his term limit. Again IMHO the possibility of "overriding" term limits by a two thirds nominating ballot should have never been added. It creates an atmosphere such as some ore feeling today that somehow a sitting GS is being dissed when that is not really the case.
I like term limits!

Where can we view the GC biz and voting results? I remember watching the info for the TV resolution, but forgot where that's at.

I hope I'm wrong, but it appears to me that some talk about what they perceive as problems within the UPC with just a hint of glee. Personally, I will be praying now that the will of God is done and that God continues to bless the organization that in my opinion has done more to spread and further the Apostolic message as I believe it than any other group or organization.

This was the facebook status of my brother (a relatively younger UPC pastor whose vsions and opinion I value and esteem greatly) from GC a few hours ago:

Excited to be part of a movement so much bigger than I and doing great things around the world and for the Kingdom of God.

I respect that.

I don't know his personal view on television. I remember when the CLC church building was being built, several from there told me it was being built with broadcasting on television in mind.

Regardless of his view on the tv issue, the resolution still passed on his watch. Staunch cons won't care to know his views, only that it happened with him in office.

Agreed. I am conflicted. On one hand there is not much about KH that i dont like. He is a great man of God and has done a great job IMHO.

At the same time the reasons for term limits are real, and new faces and new direction are good for an organization.

I didnt think it would happen.

At the end of the day, I suspect the ones who wanted term limits stuck to their belief. I dont see this as a con revolt at all.

Politics is ammoral, by the way. It's a science of people interaction. We've demonized the word. When it's used for power wielding manipulation, and people say things they don't believe, backstab, insert money, etc then it becomes evil.
Oh wow! I wasn't aware of the fact that this is the first time that such an incident has occurred. I don't find the situation sickening maybe disappointing depending who you are.

Your question and statement say it all......it's sickening BECAUSE it IS politics. Politics have no place in the Movement of Jesus Christ.

And it's sickening that a truly good man has the be the first one ever voted out. (I think he's the first.)

And Sam.....well stated. I as well have no dog in this fight. The UPC isn't even in my rear-view mirror anymore. But I'm sad for him.

Three names were nominated for General Superintendent: Paul Mooney, David Bernard, Jerry Jones.
Of the three, I like Jerry Jones ... and you know he wants it!
