I really do love Bro. Haney. He brought brightness to my spiritual life when all seemed dark. I will forever appreciate his role in my life as pastor. I would have never ended up where I am now if not for his ministry. For him to be the first ever (I think so anyway) to be voted out is sickening.
But this is what happens when a GREAT pastor steps DOWN to the position of General Superintendent.

IMHO the term "voted out" is not really a true statement. Bishop Haney was the first GS to be voted in under term limits. This is exactly how it was set up to work, so that no one could repeat what former GS's had done. (Long term hold on power whether good or bad)
He has served 8 years (2 terms) and reached the end of his term limit. Again IMHO the possibility of "overriding" term limits by a two thirds nominating ballot should have never been added. It creates an atmosphere such as some ore feeling today that somehow a sitting GS is being dissed when that is not really the case.
