I think he definitely makes an effort to be balanced, certainly seems to address things from an intellectual perspective, and is relatively easy to listen to. But I'm concerned by the seeming influence that Steven Furtick and Bill Johnson seem to have over him. His facebook has tons of quotes from those guys.
There are few guys I'd run away faster than Steven Furtick (maybe Rob Bell) and Bill Johnson with his ties to Todd Bentley, and the "New Apostolic Revival" heresy (this is the phony fake garbage of glory clouds, fire tunnels, Kansas City Prophets, and all manner of charismania).
I'm dumbfounded that Steve Pixler seems so enamoured with those guys. They seem to be everything he is not (which is a good thing). I hope he doesn't follow those guys. I think if he sticks with biblical knowledge and common sense, the church could take off, especially relocating (their church building was in an awful location).
I visited there a couple of times this summer, and have friends there, I hope for the best for all of them and the church.
