We do that we do these things for ourselves - BUT - in all actuality, we are pressured into it by the subliminal media and society. That is my opinion.
I get very offended by men that say, and that includes those on this forum ( ) that some women need work.
Well, honey - you ain't married to her - so mind your own business.

Television. People will copy the looks of people they like. I have friends that have a chain of western stores. Their biz took off after a movie Urban cowboy.
People are extremely shalow and it is interesting how much spunk they put into defending themselves as looking unique and having original looks.
Pepsi corporate had a look years ago I named Pepsi Pretty. All the Ivy league MBA's wore london fog coats, the same blue suits and button down shirts and drove BMWs at their pay grade. But every one thought each and every shallow attribute was unique to them.
I wrote a little research years ago on comparing the levels of self esteem on non conformity. People with healthy self esteem are comfy with a greater level of non conformity. With the web and other technologies, how people try to be percieved and how they percieve themselves and how others they know in person truly percieve them are vast distances appart.
