Obviously we'll disagree on this. I don't see it as first this, then this, then this. I've seen people get the HG without first being baptized. That really throws your steps off!

I agree and I have seen people receive the HG before baptism. And yes, that means that they did believe and would have to have repented. Yet still, the Bible says you receive remission (forgiveness) after you repent and are baptized. You can't get around that one either. It's in the Word.
