Quote from Post #1 -
"Can you come up with some other assumptions that people tend to run with that actually aren't in the Bible?"
How 'bout these two?
Some of you shall
not surely die, that is, IF you're
"alive and remain" so among the other
living inhabitants of the earth unto the coming of the Lord (i.e,
the rapture of the church).
Enoch (and the prophet named Elijah) were granted an "
exemption" from the "
common" (i.e.,
universally applicable) experience of death.
Should you venture to teach either of these its a sure bet that you'll never again be allowed to teach, and it may, in fact, be cause for your dis-fellowship forevermore; yea, perhaps even earning for yourself such titles as
"reprobate" or
"heretic."
Oh! By the way, I must add that I speak from experience concerning these matters, 'cause I've "been there - done that." No bother though, for I am emboldened by these words of encouragment penned by the hand of apostle Paul -
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. (
Galatians 1:10 NIV)
