I have never seen it happen. It is one of the signs in the Bible, however, unlike gold flakes. Have you seen it happen?

That I understand. What I don't get is how any of this helps us sort out fake signs from real (if any) signs. Gold flakes happen, though this sign is not mentioned in the Bible. Raising the dead doesn't (far as I know) happen, but that sign is in the Bible.
Still, the Bible does warn about false signs, so there is that. It doesn't tell you how to determine if a sign is fake, though. Sadly.
