This is an international crisis, not exclusively USA.

Your call for invaded a sovereign border is a lousy precedent at already unstable times. Greater military presence is probably best. Still never fool-proof. These are first civilian casualties.

They were at least nominally Muslim. Just "how Muslim" they were would matter because it would affect the way that they treated their prisoners.

They weren't jihadists out to "spread the faith." They were openly involved in piracy - which is condoned by the Koran and Hadiths as long as the pirates follow certain restrictions and prey only on "infidels." But, piracy isn't generally a course one would expect to be taught at the Madrasah.

this isn't baseball where you give the opposing team the chance to strike out three times before forcing them to leave the dugout. Americans died! They killed them while we were trying to negotiate with them!

Do you not realize the level of disrespect for this country their actions displayed?

They killed Americans while our military was attempting to negotiate their release.

Their actions are grounds for war.

We should kill Somali pirates who stand in the way of OUR efforts to bring order to that region.

And YES, this would be one of those occasions where it would be a good thing for America to act with the safety of people around the world in mind.

Grounds for war? Against who????? Listen to yourself. First reaction is always full scale "show them whose boss." That's not smart. That's how we get another Mogadishu. Helping to restore order in government in Somalia is certainly helpful. Being GI Joe of the world, and marching onto foreign soil because of this recent incident isn't logical, helpful or even the smartest response. It's called emotional knee jerk.

These are pirates stealing from merchants, taking hostages to get ransom money, not sovereign nations declaring war or attacking other sovereign nations. You're starting to sound like the Bush Doctrine on crack.
