No, pinhead. His father was a resident of Connecticut at the time they applied for his Social Security number, having split from his mother. Little "Barry" was living with his grandmother in Hawaii and his mom was already in Indonesia. A bona fide parent had to apply with the Social Security admin so BO's father did - FROM CONNECTICUT! He then mailed the paperwork to Barry's grandmother in Hawaii.
One was not issued at his birth. I was born the same year as Obama and I know for a fact that when I was a kid, my brother and I were one of the very few kids our age to already have Social Security numbers, so not having one issued at birth was pretty standard then. They've tightened it up in more recent years.
