It does seem that something is riding Jason, when you see a critical attitude like his there is usually bitterness behind it driving it on.

Sure, there are extremes in Pentecost but give it enough time and usually they moderate down. This is human nature.

Nothing better out there, God is good!
1) I've never once sensed a critical attitude from Jason.
2) extremes in Pentecost that moderate down have, historically, been looked at by some as lukewarm or backslidden. Would you not agree? I'm not disagreeing with you when you make this statement. However, I have known and still know people within the tight realm of traditional Pentecost that don't have much to respond to when discussing the things God has done for me/us. The only reason I can figure why the disucssion is little is because, perhaps, the thoughts crossing their mind aren't what they should be.

Keep trying to stay saved bro T triple J. Ive been delivered from such poor theology. Why do we (not really me anymore) pride ourselves on being "Word" people, the restoration of the Apostolic church, and all such jazz, but simply IGNORE blantant scriptural insturctions as given by Paul in 1 Corinthians ch.12-14 concerning spiritual gifts, their uses, and the public assembly? Fact is, many only love the Word when it lines us with the pentecostal distinctives they love, and more often than not, the scripture doesn't actually line up, because though scripture is used, it is taken out of context, like your quote, which actually applied to the true Word of God against the word of the false prophets in Jeremiah 23:28-29. Kinda like when pentecostals do some crazy stuff, call it worship and pound a pulpit screaming "it's like a fire shut up in my bones" actually that scripture is ALSO talking about the Word of God., see Jeremiah 20:9. If the Word was really like a fire shut up in their bones, they would actually CARE about what it says, not ignore it when conveinient, and attempt to make sure that all doctrinal teaching was consistent with the Word of God, and actually take the time to study something in CONTEXT, not just rip Deuteronomy 222:5 right out of context, while leaving behind vrse 8,11, and 12. Or rip Malachi 3:8 right out of context, but say "we're not under the Law." or attempt to use tithing frm the LAw, but ignore the 4th commandment (Sabbath). Or teach that ALL speak in tongues or they burn in hell, while willingly reassigning a different meaning to the text of 1 Corinthians 12:30, obviously a rhetorical question, and even so some versions (like New Living Translation) followed by the answer "No".

What's riding me? A desire to see the pure Word of God taught? A desire to see people be told to examine themselves to see if they are in the faith, rather than "God got a blessing for you!" while they seek some shallow external experience, because they have been conditioned to believe that their relationship with God is basically based on feelings? Yeah, I'm sick of seeing all these backslidden pentecostals, who I have watched be the most active worshippers in church, post on facebok looking like hades, living unstable (and some) outright sinful lives. They can't hold a job, they struggle in relationships, and they are in and out of church more times than you can shake a stick at. Brother, that is not bitterness, it is concern. concern for people. Just preach the gospel, preach the Word of God in context, and explain to people who want to spin around like a tornado wile screaming like an Indian, that real worship is the way we live life. It is what we do when no one is around, in quiet time, in our closet, the way we think about and talk to our neighbors, the way we react when we see people in need. Thats worship, all this other stuff is shallow, and God NEVER told us to "worship" like that, and for all the claims of doing things like the apsotles ALL such things commonly attributed to the Holy Ghost are suspiciously absent from the apsotles teachings and doings.

So why dont preachr have the guts (as Paul did with the Corinthians) to set such extremes straight? In my experience they simply ignore them, or worse, encourage them, claiming it is the Holy Ghost. Since when does the holy Ghost make people lose control? Blasphemy.

Call me bitter if you want, but I think you know better. What do I even have to be bitter of?

Re: Holy Ghost Explosion

you don't have to like it or do it yourself but be careful of what you say against it. Remember Saul's daughter, David's wife.

Re: Holy Ghost Explosion

This I actually like. Whats the difference? Well these people, while obviously enjoying praise, are not acting like crazy fools, jerking all over the place, or acting like disco fever. I only watched until about 2:15, so I'm not vouching for the whole video if craziness happens later on. Point made, or can some honestly not see the difference?

Noted. What about remembering the Word of God that says the fruit of the Spirit is Self control, or Jesus Christ who said you will know them by their fruits?

and that is why people should have a BALANCE to what they do. no one I ever listened to preach or teach ever taught that you shouldn't have self control or that it was okay to be a christian and not start producing fruit.
my father got up in church and told people they needed to use some common sense when they worship.
can not speak for all but I can for how I was taught. STILL I would not want to speak against or ridicule someones worship.
