Bottomline: Like I told one of my daughters friends who was staying overnight. I hear a scream in the night and it will be met by a armed response. I have no issue sending someone to meet their maker if they are threatening my family. If that means I'm not trusting God , so be it.

Yes, I doubt anyone planning a robbery or home invasion is targeting a particular family because their Christians. Now that MAY start happening at some point in the future but I don't see it now. Thus, no persecution involved, just violence.
And I have no problems with someone allowing themselves to be harmed by an intruder -turning the other cheek so to speak, but to allow their wife or children to be harmed reeks of cowardliness. In such a situation praying to God to protect your family -and not doing anything yourself is like the guy on the roof praying to God to save him from the flood and turning away the guy who appears in the boat because you think GOD will save you, not him.
