Throughout human history, some people have believed God spoke to them. Some of those people wrote things down. It's possible that some of these written things really did come from God and some did not. It's also possible that some people can tell which is which. It's also possible that Christians are the ones who can tell, and others can't.

I've had enough of the bible confirmed in my life that I know its more then possible. It's real. That is how faith works. Your hear and read God's word, you believe by faith. God confirms your faith. You believe even more. Part of what makes the Bible interesting is there is depth to it. I think you could study it your whole life and not exhaust it. It is endlessly fascinating.

Exactly. It amazes me how I can get something out of a certain scripture and it pertain to whats going on in my life, then come back to that same scripture a year or two later and it means something totally different but pertains to whats going on in my life then. Its like the more you grow in the Spirit the deeper you see things in scripture even though you have read it a hundred times over before.
It is truley the "Living Word" of God.

I like what Jesus said. He said if anyone wonders whether or not His word is truth, LET HIM DO WHAT HE SAYS and find out if it works. CS Lewis once described a shaft of sunlight shining through a crack into an old shed. Standing outside the shed looking in on the shaft of light would cause one to describe it far differently than one who is standing directly under the shaft of light. Same with the WORD OF GOD.
John 7:16-17 KJV Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. (17) If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Paul also proposed the fairest proposal one could make about truth.
Romans 12:2 KJV And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Prove out what is the will of God. Go for it. Don't just talk about it without doing it.

Nope. Not always, anyway. And the times it seemed to have worked, there's no way to distinguish between it actually working and things just happening either by my own effort (gasp!) or by random chance. It rains on the just and the unjust, after all.

How much did you put towards it ? Just dabble with it here and there ? Did you really put your life in God's hands ? Sincerly give your heart over to the will of God ? Believing and living for God is not the same as dedicating ALL you have to running after Him.
After all, you will only get out of it what you put into it.

I choose to believe, not because there is not room to doubt, but rather because there is not a better alternative.
I have tasted of the blessings of God, and they are trustworthy. I find over and over my life just works much better when I pray and mediate on the Word!! When I don't things get all balled up and difficult! So there!!

Oh, I'm sure that explains it. 50 years in it, speaking in tongues, praying for the sick, serving as deacon, teacher, youth leader, etc. Not enough effort.
