The will of the Father is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. So, yes, I am doing his will (I make this statement not with pride but just respectfully)

Jesus's will is the will of the Father, and that is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the will of God.

Let us remember that Jesus spoke these things before the work of the Cross was accomplished. Jesus was showing the Jews that they were not living the real meaning of the law. They did not take in strangers, give drink to the thirsty, good samaritan story also applies here. You see, Jesus was showing the Jews that although they claimed to know God, they DID NOT fulfill the Law.

However, Jesus HIMSELF fulfilled the Law of GOD.
And Rom 8:4 says "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

When we walk in the Spirit, we fulfill the Law of God. Those good deeds which you mentioned are done by those that walk in the Spirit, not to achieve salvation, but because of the salvation that has been accomplished in their life.

Christians who give to the homeless, visit the less fortunate do it not to gain access to heaven, but as a result of the mercy of compassion which they have received from God.

So let's not get it wrong that Jesus requires us to do a list of things to make heaven. All those "lists" are fulfilled in us when we walk in the Spirit (Rom 8:4)

The WORK of the Cross of Jesus Christ is FINISHED. Can't add to it.

In Christ's love...
He was talking about the future, though. Predicting how He Himself would separate the sheep from the goats. But maybe you are right. There is no more law. God doesn't care anymore what you do (as far as your eternal fate goes). "Depart from me" is the last thing you'll expect to hear, I'm sure.
