Now that society does not expect a veil, does it follow that being shorn IS a good thing and is no longer a beauty or a glory for the female sex?

American society or the whole world? 'cause in some areas of the world, christian sisters are still expected to wear a veil during praying or prophesying...
And also, if this was just a cultural thing, why then would Paul be asking "Is it comely for a woman to pray uncovered..." a rhetorical question that begs the answer no! and then go further to APPEAL to nature (man - short hair, woman - long hair) to support his notion of wearing veils?
All I'm saying is that I do not see long hair as a mandate for ladies (if
1 Cor 11 applies today...).
