Honestly, watching LS preach is like watching the hoards of Obama supporters worshiping their idol a few short years ago as he campaigned. It is the same idolatry as some spoke in tongues at His mere presence while others spoke in tongues at His mere presence.

This kind of preacher exaggeration has been around forever. I still remember reading some medieval legends in Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror. The one that sticks to mind 35 years later was about how a consecrated host ended up on the ground. The ants came upon it and built a mini-cathedral around it because it was holy and the body of Christ. You know people believed it then, but I still remember being boggled.
Thing is, we live in an era of easily portable Internet, where anyone with an iPhone or Android can just pull it out of their purse or pocket and let their fingers do the walking. I don't know how many people would do that, but it's possible. I suspect that if I had heard that statement in the flesh, I would have just put it off to preacher exaggeration--and then discount everything else that came out of his mouth after that.
This is the bottom line for me. If you're not going to be truthful about something that can be verified (i.e., the number of wives bin Laden had) then why should anyone trust you on something that has to be taken as a matter of faith?
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." I don't think he intended his followers to tell tall tales to impress people or make converts.
