or misconstrued Scripture.
You have a point, there. If a scripture doesn't say exactly what the writer meant to say, we have no way of knowing what the intent really was. We have opinions. I try to take the meaning as it is written, but that has obvious problems. You try to find a meaning (by adding things, e.g.) that makes it look true. Suit yourself.

The faith you (left out) are discussing, absolute faith, without a doubt,
1) just is not the faith that was being exercised, 2) Was not in God's will anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered, or 3) was illuminated to you in that episode. Or, someone was illuminated.

It is easy to assume that all those "rewards" just naturally come with
salvation, when they do not. One can enter glory blind, naked, and clueless.
It seems a harsh way to learn this, but God knows best, and it is easy to see how this possibly drove several people from possibly a heretical church.

I don't know, of course, but I do know that God answers prayer, prayed in genuine faith; i just don't personally know anyone with genuine faith, at least not in all areas. you ever notice how a person's faith might be strong for one thing, but not another? We are talking about faith that takes a while to develop, it is not just given to one. When one has that kind of faith, they would prolly also be much better informed about what to pray for, also.

Oh, we know exactly what the intent was, and it is working great! It is thoroughly detailed in Scripture, and if I went and looked it up for you, you still wouldn't understand it. That is the point. Your accusations that I am finding shadows amount to nothing, as I have a humongous body of evidence, and witnesses, which you just scoff at, to back me up, and you couldn't provide a single example here, with a witness. I dare you to try.

If you want the truth, God rewarded your brother--wouldn't surprise me a bit if he was the most pious one--in order to show up your obviously "Santa Claus" faith, because for whatever strange reason, he has a better idea for you. You are incapable, right now, of "taking a meaning as it is written," so don't make me laugh.

I'm sorry for you, T, maybe the whole point was to remind that preacher
that we pray "Your will be done" for a reason; more likely, it was a combination of good reasons, one quite likely being that some people
are just too sensitized to whatever poison it is that we have put in the system to ever be right--but one thing is for sure, you never had that kind of faith, or you would not have lost it over anyone's "death," which you (nor anyone, imo) understands really, in the slightest. People die. Others' premises are revealed, and you are standing naked under a spotlight, in the rain, without an umbrella. Sorry.

"They wanted a worldly thing: for their son, my brother, to be healed of cancer."

Exactly.

James 2:8

Exactly.
And not only that-
-everyone tries that, God
as Santa-
-you, at least,
want it more than you want God.

And God can't lie because
the truth you can't believe
is where God lives.

Re: Can God lie?

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

Isaiah 57:1
