The premise of Ron's objection to a preacher caught in moral failure being discussed is the scriptures detailing how such a person should be treated in their church.
It is clear those instructions were given for dealing with a person's specific situation by the church he was associated with. By church I don't think it means a specific congregation but it could be that or even a regional or wider covering he might be subject to.
However those instructions were regarding determining the sinful persons status. They were to be given a course of action to make things right then if they did not follow that they were to be cast out of the church.
Nowhere do I see instructions for the "church" outside of that person's immediate congregation not to discuss the situation or be made aware of it.

Wrong! There is a thing called Gossip & as well, there are systems to go through to deal with someone who has a situation.
Mathew 28:15-18 comes to mind as well as
Acts 23:1-5
Give a clear response how we are to treat this.
