Re: Where Are The Real Apostolics?
And no, I'm not what people would call Charismactic, moderate, or backslidden from the faith. I may be what people call conservative, or maybe even ultra conservative.
I believe in helping those who are in need, giving of myself, whether it be my time, monetary. I spend my time in prayer, fasting, reading the bible, meditating on things of the Lord, fellowshipping with those who are in the faith, witnessing unto others about the goodness of the Lord. I believe in actually dying to the lust of the flesh, and the world, and all of it's calling. I believe in being holy, living a life without sin.
Yes, I believe in being modest, maybe even extremely modest, where there really isn't any condemnation in the bible against being modest.
I don't allow sinful pride in my life, whether inward or outward.
I wear long, full, loose, plain skirts and dresses down around my ankles.
I wear plain, long sleeve shirts, down to my wrists.
I don't wear any gaudy, loud, bright, out there colors.
I actually wear a plain covering over my head when I pray, (scarves, hats etc.).
I don't wear any jewelry, of any kind, cause there's no use for it other than for pride. (Even though I believe that you can wear a plain, leather or corded banded watch around your wrist if you actually need it or use it for telling time, other than that it's just vain adornment)
I believe in wearing plain shoes.
I don't use the internet for anything besides looking up lawful information, such as businesses, paying bills etc..
I don't watch or own a T.V. There's nothing whatsoever on there that a spiritual mind would want to see, nothing but entertaining the lust of your eyes, and engrossing yourself in worldly entertainment (no matter how "clean" it may seem).
No, I don't paint or shape my nails, I don't wear makeup, I don't sculpt, fix, mold my face.
I don't believe in going to the doctors for any healing. I believe in divine healing, and miracles, believing that the one who created your body, is more than able to heal you and deliver you, no matter what it is. And He has, healed me many, many times over. And if it comes a time when it's His will to take my life, rather than heal me, or will to heal me, but still would want to take my life, I'll still be delighted, for I'll rather be with Him, than in this world.
I don't take part in Pagan holidays, wherein I can be condemned with the world.
Do I believe that in not doing or doing these things make me holy? No, you have to show forth the fruits of Spirits inwardly, but you still have to be separate from the world, in words, deeds, and these should show forth in your outward appearance as well. I continue to judge myself, making sure that I live and do all that I know to do that is right, and that I don't cheat myself in anything, to favor the flesh in anyway over the Spirit.
And are these works, yes they are. And no, I didn't die on the cross for my salvation, Jesus did that, but I'm still going to be judged by the deeds done in my body. And I'm going to make sure that, by the help of God I'll only allow myself to do rightful, Godly, lawful deeds in this body...
