Yet, even as we see natural disasters that hit such as earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes etc... it is always a good idea to have extra food/water/supplies on hand in case of such an event.

Most important of all, our trust should be in the Lord For part of the prayer He prayed was "Give us this day our daily bread" That's not much. Yet that was how our Lord lived, and the apostles who carried on after Christ's death.

If we have our daily bread, indeed we are blessed! And should we be blessed enough to store up enough daily bread for several weeks or even months, then so be it... But our trust for provision must always remain in the Lord Jesus, no matter how great our own personal preparations are.
Truth be told, if there are nuclear missiles being lobbed at us, my wife and I will go outside to watch the light show. It would be far easier to die in a nuclear explosion than to go a month+ without food. The only thing were preparing for is massive civil and economic unrest, along with any local disaster.

Not at all. I really never noticed it until I was in High School, and took the time to ask what the deal was with the grocery store, and arsenal down stairs in the basement? A matter fact, the old man was pretty serious about those who had a chicken little sort of outlook on life, and said that in everything balance was monumental in preparedness. He would of pointed at you as a "mild prepper" and said you were sanely balanced, and if anything went down you would do alright, and if anything didn't go down you wouldn't be disappointed. After he died I wondered about what he thought after keeping the place stocked as he did, and kinda imagine he wasn't disappointed that he never had to survive on his stock or have to kill the neighbors when they were beating down the door.

For the two or three here who have ever watched an episode of Doomsday Preppers, here is Southerprepper1 going through how he does the final score at the end of each segment.

Did I say you're delusional?

No, you are more like Doctor Bill on that old episode of the Twilight Zone who built a Bomb Shelter, and had all his neighbors beat down the door of the Shelter, only to find out that the air raid warning was a false alarm.

Brother Wandy, I live in a city, and if economic civil unrest hit here in Broward County Florida, I wouldn't make it to the county line. You see, while you are in the middle of the painted desert and can hold up like the Road Warrior, I would have to do an escape from New York scenario, with the wife and children. I've been down here while a hurricane left us without power for 3 weeks, no gasoline, I was the only house with electricity, because we were prepared for everything we would need in advanced, and knew we could wait out a 3 weeks worth of damage, and repair.

But others weren't as fortunate, and a lot of people were pretty hostile when the supermarkets closed their doors, and food wasn't delivered, and lines became too long. Let's amplify that with a Day After scenario, and all moving parts stand still, you could imagine a city population going out of their minds with every man for themselves, I live in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, centrally located in the middle of population, with the prison right up the road, so if anything went Armageddonly wrong, you know those prisoners would be let loose. So, what's the odds of shooting your way out of Fort Lauderdale with wife and children in tow? I know, it looks easy when Sylvester and Arnold do it, but really how far will a family go in a city gone mad dog hungry?

I look at it this way, I depended on Jesus this long, and would do all I can do like in any other disaster situation (hurricanes) we have gone through, but that's about it, Jesus would have to take care of the Benincasas the rest of the way.

I always thought how absurd it was to survive a nuclear war in a bomb shelter...Eventually everything runs out and you have to go outside where everything is irradiated....What's the point? a few extra weeks?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Living in the desert I am very thankful that this man lives only an hour from us!

He only lives 45 minutes from us.
