For me it brings back great memories of the loving nuns who cared for me when my mother was too ill to do it, the priest who helped me through my first bible studies, my dear mother-in-law who had such faith and has now gone on but who never forsook her Catholic roots... very comforting.
I also love to talk to God in prayer and praying in the spirit gives me a chance to pray for things that are not a part of my conscience knowing, also wonderful. For me, neither does anything to detract from the other.

Yes, I get what you get - the preacher voice - ick! My daughter does a great impersonation. She can mimic just about anything or anyone. LOL! Although, she said after her braces came off she isn't able to do the weed eater sound anymore.
