Re: Come Out Of Her My People
I see that I don't belong on here. You men are mad. And actually if you are a Pastor, I can understand. But instead of trying to discus this, you resort to ridicule and making fun, and not trying to dialog.
There are a few sincere Christians on here, but I also see a half-hearted group that would rather talk about ball games and TV, than serious discussion. And no wonder. In serious discussion, you get slapped down. Even our foundation of the salvation in Acts is being eroded by people seeking an easier way. Or to be accepted by the world.
I'm not beyond correction, and I wish I was wrong about the condition of the Church. I wish I was wrong about, desiring to just go to a church and enjoying being there because I could feel the presence of God there. (I can feel God's presence more at home, in prayer, than I can in churches)
I wish I was wrong about the End-Times. But I know that I am not. I certainly don't look forward to Persecution, but it is coming.
I love the Church, very much. And it grieves me to the depths of my spirit to see what is happening. I wish some of you could feel the same burden that I feel in my spirit., Does any of you think that we are a model for the Early Church? Or was the Early Church a model for us?
If Jesus, Peter or Paul walked into your church, would they be welcome? If Jesus chased the money changers out, would there be anyone left? If Peter prayed for the sick, how many would be healed? Do you know that we need to get back to the basics? And if we don't, God will bring it about. When persecution comes, where will your church be then?
Jesus while walking on this earth, started no church. He taught the Apostles and gave them commandments of how to set up the Church. Do you think that in a hundred years, two hundred, there was no money to build church buildings? Or do you think they were poor Christians just trying to make do, with what they had. If God had wanted them to build big buildings, don't you think that He would have led Peter and Paul to do so?
I believe that they knew what building, buildings would lead to.
And guess what??? I know that I don't have a lot of the answers that we need. But I see, as plain as the examples on this Forum, that the Church is going downhill.
Don't you think it is time to take a fresh look at where we've been led. As well as ask God to give us a fresh anointing to rethink CHURCH. Knowing that each 'born again' individual is the temple of God, therefore HOW should we treat one another? HOW, should we meet? WHAT is our purpose in life?
My aim was to be constructive, not controversial, although I expected it. I hate controversy with a passion, but will not run from it on serious issues. But I will not stay where I'm not wanted either.
There seems to me to be several on here that have quit church, because of the very things that I have mentioned. A few are in house churches. Some that have went to the other Denominations, not knowing that they have plunged even deeper into Paganism.
I would hope that we could find some answers. But now I doubt it. When people EGO'S get in the way to the extent that they start mocking, ridiculing and making fun of something that they do not understand, because it is not traditional teaching, then for me the dialog is over.
