Oh and by the way CS Lewis was one of the greatest writers of our time, not a poor writer that came up with silly story.

You're missing the point, this book deals with many, many human's pain in this life. The Shack is not a book of doctrine, it is not scripture, and it has spoken to many, many folks in their "greatest sadness".
We actually had the author speak at our church, in the context of his own "great sadness" it is clear the book has been helpful to lots of folks. It would be helpful to read it without religious lens, then maybe you would hear the message.
