Let me get this straight. You are saying baptism is necessary. But you are questioning the mode of baptism when the bible is very plain about it. It is in Jesus' name. The apostles said that over and over again. Are you saying that if the mode is not right there is still salvation?
It's like saying we are told to walk up Main Street to get the Post office, and people walk down Fifth avenue, and they still get to the post office?
It has nothing to do with not thinking.
Invoking the name of Jesus is important. Try casting a devil out without doing so.
I noticed you spoke of the person being baptized does the invoking. What do you say about neither doing the invoking? The Name need not be mentioned?

Mike, you really need to read my posts. I am not questioning the mode of baptism.
Furthermore, I do not think casting out a living entity is the same as casting out sin. When I baptize someone using the name of Jesus in my proclamation, I'm not saying "
Sins I command you to leave in Jesus' name".
