I have never been told to go on a TV show where I know that the show promotes a lifestyle conducive to sin.
I have not been told to go into a strip club and preach to dancers either.
Hey Timmy I know where you are coming from. Who am I to question what God has supposedly told someone to do?
Well when our lifestyle doesn't match up with scripture I have a problem. I am not saying we should all dress like the Amish but there is a certain standard of dress required to go out in public "restaurant, theme park, ect,ect..." Somehow this standard of dress is not required for TV though. Strange.
I DON"T CARE!!! YOU ALL CAN WATCH YOUR SOFT CORE PORN IF YOU WANT!!!
I will not watch this show because I know it is trash.
Timmy all I have to say to you is
Good Day Sir! I said Good Day!!!

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty
Anyway, yeah. I love how some people know other people are wrong when they claim God told them something, but are always right when they think God spoke to them. (Uh. Maybe you can sort out the pronouns, there? )

I get so sick and tired of people saying God called me to do this. The next thing they are doing what THEY want. Seems like a cheap cop out.
I have no opinion of the minister going on the show. But every time someone starts with this called stuff in seems in a little while they always cross the line.
My two cents anyway.
God would never call a man to do anything remotely crazy or contrary to our Puritanical values or Western sensitivities would He???
Isaiah 20:1-6 (ESV)
1 In the year that the commander in chief, who was sent by Sargon the king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and fought against it and captured it— 2 at that time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loose the sackcloth from your waist and take off your sandals from your feet,” and he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3 Then the Lord said, “As my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and a portent against Egypt and Cush,[a] 4 so shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptian captives and the Cushite exiles, both the young and the old, naked and barefoot, with buttocks uncovered, the nakedness of Egypt. 5 Then they shall be dismayed and ashamed because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their boast. 6 And the inhabitants of this coastland will say in that day, ‘Behold, this is what has happened to those in whom we hoped and to whom we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria! And we, how shall we escape?’”
We need to stand clear and allow people to hear from God on their own... even if we are troubled by what God may have called them to do. We often don't know the big picture. God does. To heavily criticize them could cause us to be critical of God Himself. If something is of God, there is no stopping it's purpose. If something isn't of God, nothing will become of it. We have to judge "fruit"... not how the seed is often sown.
I've not watched the show either. However, I do have some thoughts on what you've said.

Yeah that will be very helpful. I am sure.
I'm sure that there is a lot of truth to what you said above. Sex sells.

I think TV is a lot like books. You have so called writers that put out anything that will make a buck. Then you have real writers who take their craft seriously. The true writer will come up with a plausible, interesting and emotionally gripping plot. And then they will read books, attend workshops or go to college to hone their writing skills.
Amen.

This TV show isn't even good reality TV. AND yes I am making a judgment even know I will never watch one second of the show.
I might catch an episode if I'm thinking about it. However, I see it more like a game show, something akin to Survivor.
Oh wow a guy got baptized. Now he can go skinny dip with strangers and know that his sins are forgiven. Great for him.
It sounds to me like these people aren't entirely "strangers". I have little doubt that they've had some time to get to know one another. I wouldn't say that skinny dipping in and of itself is a "sin". I'd say that one's motives and actions while skinning dipping may very well be sin.
One should always rejoice when their sins are forgiven. Even if they continue to struggle with being all too human.
Yeah just like God calls some to buy Hookers and Blow (cocaine)!
God would never call someone to have relations with a hooker would He???
Hosea 1:2-3 (ESV)
2 When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the Lord.” 3 So he went and took Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
I do doubt God would ever tell a person to partake in Cocain. However, would God ever command that one of His beloved partake in the hard liquor and party-hardy???
Deuteronomy 14:24-26 (ESV)
24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the Lord your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the Lord your God chooses, to set his name there, 25 then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the Lord your God chooses 26 and spend the money for whatever you desire—oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.
