I believe that Christ's work on the cross provided full atonement, satisfying every minute detail of the Law, on our behalf. In addition, He provided full propitiation, meaning He bore the fullness of God's anger and wrath against us. In Christ, we're reckoned dead and buried with Him. Hidden in Christ. Covered by the blood. Through the abiding presence of the Holy Ghost, our spirits, our inner man, partakes in the divine nature and is a sinless new creature. But the soul, our mind needs renewal through prayer, study, and meditation on the Word. These things bring the soul and the spirit into alignment. Without this alignment, one has no peace, but rather guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, and ultimately a since of hopelessness. This can cause one to lose faith and depart from the Way and be lost. The body, or flesh, is very much unregenerated. It has all the carnal desires for fullness, ease, and pleasure. It is subject to genetics, hormones, sickness, aging, and death. One day, it will be raised and glorified. But right now, it is a sinful shell that opposes our spiritual goals and desires. And so, much of our sinful proclivities and behaviors are due to sin in our members. It isn't we who sins, but sin that dwells within us.
1 Corinthians 6:9-12 King James Version (KJV)
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

This verse is about sinners, not saints. We're washed, sanctified, justified in the name of Jesus. Though we might struggle with the flesh and carnal thinking, we're signed, sealed, and delivered. We can't wait to be free of this sinful flesh, which is fallen in nature, and pulls us back into sin and carnality time and time again. We hate our sin and weaknesses. And though the flesh pulls us into sin, some more than others, even to greater degrees than others, when we put on the mind if Christ, and follow the Spirit abiding in us, we rise again.

Sanctification is a process. There are times of seeming stagnation, and rapid growth at other times. It's a walk, not a staring contest, to maintain or be lost in the blinking of an eye. This is a steady and sure grace that allows us to be perfect in our authenticity.

What it looks like your saying is that sanctification is a process you will never attain until you own death buys you true salvation? Meaning you have to actually die, get buried and resurrect before you are really free from sin?
Jesus died so people would be partially free from sin? They would continue to struggle because of their epidermal tissue, bone, blood, and hair?

So, you are spiritually bipolar? Sort of like an ecclesiastical Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? Jesus telling Judeans without the Holy Ghost they needed to not look at women and lust after them. Well, sounds like you have me all figured out, don't you? So, what's your verdict? Am I lost, backslidden, condemned where I stand? Or, might you claim I never received the Holy Ghost, so I was never saved to begin with? What is it?

Or could it be that something I said was so honest, so authentic, so in tune with your own experience, that it confronts you with your own hypocrisy, so you have no other recourse but to lash out with personal attacks? Do such attacks make you feel like a better man? Does your church give you extra points and pats on the back for saying these things?

Or, perhaps I've got this all wrong. Maybe your purpose is to demonstrate how wonderfully sinless and perfect you are. Maybe your purpose is to be such a fine example of holiness that I'll just fall at your feet in adoration.

I've been in this 28 years. I have no reason to stand here and pretend to be sinless, and I won't. I know who died for me. I know I'm an undeserving wretch, even on my best days. If I do get to heaven, I'm not worthy to enter even if it were to only shine your shoes.

I believe in the doctrine of grace. I believe that God loves you, even though you set out to purposefully hurt and offend me. And I'll gladly take what you have to offer. Because, I know that as long as you're scourging me wide open...you're not browbeating some poor soul who might be on the edge of losing their faith completely. I don't think you're lost. In fact, the grace that has saved me in my admitted imperfections, saves you in yours. You're only doing this because you're religion hasn't taught you better.

I believe in the doctrines of redemption.

1. Corporate Election (God's choice to save whosoever will enter into the body of Christ)
2. Predestination (God's predetermined glory for the church)
3. Atonement (Christ's work of satisfying the Laws demands for the church)
4. Propitiation (Christ's satisfying God's wrath against sin for the church)
5. Prevenient Grace (the Holy Spirit's drawing of the lost to Christ Jesus through both an inner and an outer calling)
6. Conversion (repentance & water baptism)
7. Justification (imputed righteousness received by faith at Conversion)
8. Regeneration (being born of the Spirit as a result of the baptism of the Holy Spirit)
9. Adoption (membership in God's family through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit received at Regeneration)
10. Sanctification (growing into Christlikeness by taking part in the divine nature through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit)
11. Death (the cessation of physical life after which one enters the intermediate state wherein the soul is present with the Lord in Heaven awaiting resurrection & glorification)
12. Resurrection & Glorification (receiving a resurrected and glorified body fashioned perfectly after the image of Christ)

And, it's all by grace.

There's no winners here, we are having discussions those discussions aren't actually debates, because they never end. Do our opinions go to the person who posts? Of course they do, because we are looking not only to what is being posted, but who is posting it. Everyone brings their personality with what they post.
