Acts 6:2-4
[2] Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. [3] Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. [4] But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

You imagine if a Pastor or anyone in the 5 fold ministry said this, they would be called greedy, accused of taking from the poor, ill use the word this one gentlemen likes to use... scandalous!

If other Pastors or anyone in the 5 fold ministry want to work 40+ hours a weeks at a worldly occupation that fine for them. I have a couple works started and I do work (HVAC) because its not to the point to allow me to go full time. Understanding, that I limit my self to 20 hours a week. To other Pastors or the 5 fold ministry that would rather work long hours for “the man” I usually would say, that’s your problem not mine. The pastor I was under when I was a saint in the church, I supported his ministry with tithe and offering, every week, every year for 17 years. I believed that he shouldn't be working all these hours and then get off and try to attend the needs of the church. If some believe your Pastor should, that already says a lot about you, just saying.

1 Timothy 6:10
[10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

I do believe the Old Covenant dealt with the natural man, and the New Testament deals with the spiritual, deals with the heart. Is money physical, tangible, yet it is, yet the love of it he says is the root of all evil. So loving physical rewards, money, etc. will have spiritual implications. It makes you wonder why people are so acid against giving to a pastor, prophet, teacher etc to support the ministry God called them to, claiming is unscriptural for these man to receive money to help support them. Yet, I know people like this, they’ll be in debt with car loans, credit card debit etc. they’ll feed there unnatural desire for worldly pleasures, and sacrifice to do so. Scandalous....

Acts 18:3
[3] And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Like I said, I have no problem with the five fold minister working. Did Paul do that everywhere he went? It talks about him working so he wasn't a burden to the church, ok, that’s fine. What’s the point? Please understand that Paul is the one that instructed the church, not to muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. Some may say, that’s not money, cold hard cash. Then I guess, go and take your Pastor or anyone for that matter in the 5 fold ministry and and take them out to eat, or buy them groceries until they finish. The ox was allowed to eat as much as he wanted as long as he was working. A man stated tithe could also be land, well if that’s your conviction then go and give your local assembly land that you purchased with cold hard cash. Or sell your property and give it to the 5 fold ministry like in Acts 5, just don't lie to the Holy Ghost.

John 21:3
[3] Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

You ever wonder why Peter said “I go a fishing?”

Does the Bible ever say that Peter went back to fishing, that was job prior to the ministry. Perhaps, (this is my OPINION) he was the Pastor as Jerusalem or to the jews and perhaps Paul had to work at times because he was an apostle. Paul traveled a lot, went to places where there was not enough supply, and he did what he had to do. Yet, I don't read where Peter and the other elders had to work, that may be a difference.

If you or anyone doesn’t want to give tithe to the local assembly, and believe its unscriptural to do so. That’s fine with me, you don't offend me, that’s your issue not mine. I live what I preach, the church is not a money making business, its a soul making business, and I will continue to give everything I have to make that possible. As far as tithe is concerned, do what you feel!
