1- Matthew 28:19
2- Acts 2:38

Are we to argue which of these is the "biblical" formula? Did not Peter say to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? He never did say in the name of Jesus ....
We are arguing over the pronouncement that the baptizer says ... yet there is no scripture that says that the baptizer must get it right ... conversely it says that the person who believes and calls on the name of the Lord is saved ... should the baptizee be the one invoking the name?

I believe the believer
must call on the name of Jesus prior to or at the moment of baptism... The one doing the dipping can preach a sermon or say nothing at all. If the prerequisite is met then the candidate is baptised in Jesus Name.
