It is only lying when you are with holding the truth. If they once said no to tv now are saying yes has nothing to do with lying or breaking promises. Though if they are acting like they have no tv but actually do then your statement applies.

You know I was told by a UPC minister that when they are asked to sign the affirmation statement that they can designate to sign under protest. That entitles them to make their own choice on tv. Just repeating what I was told so may not be gospel, but why would I question a UPC pastor about that...ummmmm yeah. oloroid

That's the bigger issue, I would think - signing something and then not living up to it....People in the community talk about this kind of thing. That is how I learned about it first...I had no idea about this until I heard it from someone in the community...This issue and the hair issue that Renda mentioned seem to be in need of attention, more than advertising on TV..

The pastor's son in Louisiana that is on TV does not hold license, but is the assistant pastor of his dad's church. So he is not breaking any rules.

That is a neat way to skirt an agreement that you made that you really don't like.

I'll get both barrels of the shotgun for this . . .

I hope there's more UPC Churches and Pastors who start advertising on television, regardless of what happens in Tampa.

I'll state it again . . .

HQ has become too much like the government in Washington, DC. It's become too much of a "big brother" involving itself in things its founders never intended.

It's so messed up on the issue that it's going against its own Article 1 of the General Constitution:

It's also going against the autonomy of the local church:

It's become more than what the founders created it to be, which originally was a fellowship of believers. It's now become a governmental agency, complete with the IRS, FBI, and Homeland Security.

Viva La Revolucion!
