HOC SIGNO VINCES or "in this sign conquer" was what Constantine believed God spoke to Him in a vision at the Battle at Milvian Bridge. At this point is where Christianity was converted into a religion of the "just war" and God was taken from the OT and made the defender of any country who had a "just cause" or a righteous beef. Prior to Helena and Constantine's so-called conversion Christianity was a passive and persecuted religion in the Roman Empire. We have no record of war like uprisings coming out of the Christian community prior to the Constantine Pagan baptism of Christianity.
