Y'all come on down. There is a nice place for sale not too for from here. TB could start a church and the wife and I would be the very best best church members. I do not have a home church out here yet. I still claim L.T. as home.

It would be neat to visit. I wouldn't want to live in Texas though.
I'd better shush. Sure as I say it, I'll end up there. LOL.

Property values in our area have increased 26% in the past three years. On a house that at that time cost $350,000 that's a big increase in equity! I wish I had $100,000 to invest in the property market right now. I would be more than a millionaire by the time I retired.

You and I make up 2 of the 3 votes in that category.

What are property taxes like in Surrey? I've found the tax rate here in the Calgary area to be far lower than in NB. The actual taxes I pay are higher due to the much higher property values but the rate is much lower....
I read an article in the Province when I was in BC a few weeks ago that the average for a 3 bedroom house in greater Vancouver is right around the $700K mark - just crazy......It's hovering around $500K here - also crazy!! Especially when I look at the mls.ca site and see what I can get in Fredericton or the Saint John river valley area for under $200K.... Maybe I should go back - LOL!

I inherited my 1900 sq ft, two story, old house back in 2000 after my dad died. My mom signed one of their properties over to me…I grew up in the house as a little girl, so I have lots of memories. My husband at that time and I worked on the house and mortgaged it for about $25K to do repairs… then after the divorce a few years ago, I refinanced again for more money to put in a new furnace and stuff. I live pretty cheap considering Indiana has high property taxes… which are through the roof… and causing quite a problem here. It is down right ridiculous… My house is worth about 100K now.. I'm still working on it.. and hope to sell it for more than that in the future.
I think I should move to La…(that is cheap for a home) or Texas.. no property or sales tax (TX)… wow.

Since filing Homestead Exemption our taxes run less than $40 per year.
They were $600 before
