Not true... and I think you know that

... I believe he is Faithful and Just to forgive the confessed sins... whether in a Wesleyan Pentecostal altar call or a Baptist invitation. I do, however, see forgiveness and remission as two separate indications in scripture. I realize that others do not. Again, I am responsible for what I see in the Word of God and I will endeavor to preach and teach the same.
As a side note, I think one of the reasons we have such a high attrition rate among new converts is that we have DE-emphasized the importance and the power of heart felt, fully realized repentance. While I understand that HE forgives in an instant, there is more to repentance than repeating a sinner's prayer... specifically the accepting of forgiveness by the pentitent. I don't see folks these days feeling the awful, heavy weight of their sin. As a result they don't have a full realization of what the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary's cross accomplished for them and seems easy to walk away from.
Anyway... just more of my ramblings. Lord, what has happened to Godly Sorrow?
