Where were you from, Markus?

I think the Flora camp was the year Roland Gardner preached Camp Meeting!

Re: I remember when...
I remember hearing R. W Schambach say "You don't have any trouble, all you need is faith in God" at the close of his radio broadcast. And his message was about faith, not about money.
I remember Fridays nights was prayer night at the cave. The brethren of our church and I would gather at a cave just outside of town, where we'd pray and seek the Lord until daylight began to break. The cave is gone now. And so are the brethren.
I can remember walking the gravel roads back home picking up "Coke" bottles (all soda bottles were called "Coke" bottles) to sell. I'd gather enough to buy a 16 oz. RC, A bag of BBQ Fritoes and a Baby Ruth candy bar. Cost: 25 cents.
I remember going to church every night of the week. Somewhere. One time, I got off from work and we drove to Barbuorsville, KY for a tent revival. Got there in time to hear the closing prayer. Stayed and fellowshipped for a while. Got home about 3 a.m, got up at 6 a.m to go to work. That night, we went to church again. Somewhere.
I remember when if a service dismissed before 10 pm we felt backslid. A good service was one that lasted until after midnite.
I remember, at 16, feeling the Lord leading to preach on the street corner in our home town. Got there (alone) and the devil began to talk me out of it. There I stood, not wanting to disobey the Lord, yet, being afraid of preaching all alone. A little balack sister walked up and said, "Well, you gonna preach or not?" I did. Me and that little black sister had church there in the middle of Cleveland, TN.
I remember when I was afraid of missing the rapture. Walking through a grave yard one time, I noticed a grave had "sunk". I thought the rapture had taken place and I was left. I ran home and prayed that God would come back for me.
I remember standing at William Branhams grave very early one morning. A woman came walking up and talked to me about Bro. Branham. She had known him, and attended his church. She told me "Don't follow a man. Follow the Lord". As she walked away, I turned to ask her name. She was gone. Never saw her again. Not long after, I left the Branham movement to follow the Lord.
Thanks, Sister Barb, for the trip down memory lane.

I went to camp at Buckeye Lake. LOVE the ice cream parlor. It was a real "old fashioned" ice cream parlor. Mmmmm. When you went, Rhoni, did they have the "six inch rule"? Someone walked around with a six inch ruler and stuck it between boys and girls who were walking together to make sure that there was at least 6 inches between them at all times.
I also remember that we were not allowed down by the lake after dark. The story we were told was one about a group of boys who went down after dark one year even tho they knew better and how some actual demons chased them back to the tabernacle. I don't know if I ever believed that, but it was a good story.

I went to the Michigan Campgrounds with the Well's one year. I don't seem to remember that it was in Hillsdale tho. Am I wrong? I'm almost positive it's in Marshall.
The thing I remember about Michigan Camp was that people were shouting and yelling and dancing and running and carrying on right from the beginning. I must've looked stunned because Sis Well leaned over to me and said, "They don't act like this in Ohio, do they?" hehehe Boy, was she RIGHT!! LOL

LOL!! You are younger than me, girl...it is Marshall now, but was always at a rented campground in Hillsdale.
The district built the Marshall camp in the mid 60s...

I lived in Barbourville for one year, OA. Did you go to meetings at the campgrounds where the Pentecostal Children's Home is now? That's where I lived. I was a housemother there. Lost my job after a year because it was a Trinity Pentecostal Children's Home and I had made arrangements for one of our young ladies to spend weekends with a family who was Oneness Pentecostal. When the girl asked to be baptized in Jesus' name, I was 'found out' and fired. Ooops.

I remember... The old Westphalia campground (open shelter) in Missouri. I recieved the Holy Spirit there one night - TF Tenny preached - it was the last year for that campground.
