Yes, I do agree with this statement.
The answer to that is in
Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin."
"Henceforth" is the key.
That would have to mean that sin does present itself to us. By dying out to self everyday we don't accept the offer.
