The answer to that is in Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

"Henceforth" is the key.

That would have to mean that sin does present itself to us. By dying out to self everyday we don't accept the offer.
Right. And actually, Romans 6 goes on to teach that instead of trying to make ourselves not sin, we need to learn to seek God in prayer for His Spirit to empower us and use our physical bodies as instruments of his righteousness, so sin does not use our physical bodies to commit sins.

Quote:
Romans 6:12-13 KJV Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 8:11-12 KJV But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
The passages above show us that if we do not yield our bodies to God for Him to use, sin will use our bodies. This raises a whole new issue... do we actually do what Ro 6:13 said in order to stop falling into sin?

Sin will rule in our mortal bodies, or the Spirit of God will quicken our mortal bodies. We decide which, whether we do so intentionally or not. And it is, mor eoften than not, unintentionally done for sin to use us.
