Excellent insight, Sis. A........

Re: Charismatic Apostolic
Well dear one... I am just a down to earth person...
I heard a preacher from the ACI tell how worldly a preacher was from the WWPF...they happen to pastor close to each other!

Or did Christ succeed in living a sinless life because He was God? If that is true, then it would be impossible for us to live an overcoming life because we are not God. I don't think Christ relied on His divine powers to overcome the temptations of the flesh and of the eyes, etc. but fully trusted in His Father in all things.
I'm not trying to compare us to God the Father and the purity of God but God in his manifestion as a man in which He calls us, brethren. In which, though still pure because He was without sin, He has set an example to which we strive to be like.
I haven't used the word, perfection, at all. Are you equating perfection with lack of sin? I'm speaking to a life that is overcoming, overcoming our faults, overcoming the struggles of the flesh and mind, overcoming the enemy of our souls..etc. A life in which we are attempting to be Spiritually minded and not carnally minded. I just finished reading a good analogy of different stages in our growth in Christ being compared to fruit. The fruit is perfect at each stage in development. Well, I'm sure you've heard it all before.... How do you interpret what is meant by being perfect? complete? mature?

To set the life of Christ as our goal and example is laudable. To set our expectations to be Jesus Himself is merely setting oneself up for failure.
In his life He walked on water and we are called to "follow in his steps" ( 1 Peter 2:21), but I would hope that you also know how to swim if you take this one literally.
We are expected to overcome and to progress in our journey and to "grow up in Him..." ( Ephesians 4:13-15). However, that final goal of "perfection" is afar off ( 1 John 3:2). In the meantime we are called to manifest that "perfection" by living righteously and showing love to one another ( 1 John 2:7-11 and 1 John 3:1-12).

May we keep our eyes on Jesus...and off our brothers and sisters for all flesh is just flesh and subject to the things of the flesh. May we be overcomers!

I agree we set ourselves up for failure if we aspire to become Christ in perfect morality. It is interesting that you chose a miracle for your example though.
I thought the Holy One said (speaking of his miracles) "greater works than these shall ye do."

THING...no such THING. Anyways "Charismatic" is not synonymous with "unclean vessel". What makes a vessel unclean, in case you don't know this already, is what is in the heart. It's IN the Heart that God looks at.
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Mat 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Mat 15: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
BTW was Saul "clean" when the Spirit of the LORD came on him and he prophesied? What about the Pagan king Nebuchadnezzar? God called him "my servant"

these folks that live like the world (women with their bobbed hair, maked up faces, pants and so on) do not have any anointing. There may be a spirit there but it's not the HOLY GHOST.
|
I see women in the world wear skirts and dresses too and even have long uncut hair...yet don't even believe in the Apostolic message. BTW you realize that IF any of those people DO have the Holy Spirit that you just made the unpardonable blasphemy? Many of these people you just condemned don't fornicate or commit adultery or rob their neighbors and infact treat their neighbors with hospitality...yet their only sin....THE ONLY think in your mind that makes them bad people is the outward stuff you focus on. There are a lot of people that dress to the T the way you think they should but INSIDE they lack real holiness.
BTW people in the world wear suits....they drive cars...they tap their toes to good music...they "do" their hair nice...they do probably a LOT of things that YOU do...why is it only the list you gave is "living like the world"?

This is not a Apostolic board at all, but a charismatic one
|
If that is the case why do you spend so much time here? There are people here that believe like YOU as well as people that DON'T...and some of the ones that believe like YOU do you probably reject simply because they don't have the nasty attitude you do towards others, but doctrinally they are just like you. That makes it simply a place for Apostolics with standards and Apostolics without standards to hopefully come and have a good time with a good attitude together.

Now rave on, post all you like. I will not be back to respond. There is scripture that talks about this situation, something about pearls.
|
If you return that makes you a liar then. Hope to see you on the other side some day since this will be the last we see of you here. On the other hand, this was YOUR choice, not ours. We'd love to have people that believe like you do here and more so. The choice to do that is totally up to you, not us.

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Wow....I mean WOW...seriously. I read WH's post and responded BEFORE reading yours. Now, yes it is possible they or some of them or all of them, don't really have the Spirit but I would be VERY careful of just making a blanket statement like WH for risking the ultimate sin.

And if it did then WH is going to heck in a handbasket unless he becomes Amish...Just how strict is strict? One can always "one up" the next strictest preacher by adding some other insane requirement.

Well if he is honest he will not be back brother. He just came here to spit out his venom...I guess the dog ran away or died and he had nothing to kick around so he came here with his rank attitude....
And for the record and thankfully NOT all that believe in standards are like WH.

Even Gamaliel had better sense than to make a statement like WH just made, and Gamaliel wasn't even supposedly filled with the Holy Ghost.
