It's like these people think God is going to override the will of some criminal. If He were that kind of God, why not override the perp's will before he breaks into my house in the first place? Why wait until he's standing in front of me with a gun in his hand?

How about a baseball bat, or the lamp, or the phone? How far are you willing to go?

It's incredible how you are trying to use the example of martyrs to justify not protecting our families. My guess is if some nut were to break into your house and take one step towards your wife you'd do everything in your power to stop him, including taking him out if that's what it took.

IF I had a shot gun, which I do NOT, YOU (and some more liberal AFF potential sinner killers), would be the last one(s) I would sell it to.

Don't want to be a party to that.

I have seen it at work.

I have also seen a big guy filled with not one, but many devils walk into Church with a fury in his eyes.
He tried to curse and swear but was all bound up.
He then tried to spit, but because of the power of God could only make a little kid spit that dribbled down his chin.

in talking with him he got delivered of spirits of addiction, which he wanted delivery from, but when it came to the spirits of witchcraft, he didn't want to let go of that, because he enjoyed the power it gave him.

Sadly he left.

We never did feel threatened!

Ok. Guess that means I can write you off the list as someone I could possibly buy a shot gun from.

Rico, is your faith in Jesus that low?

I don't say that to mock you Brother, but to say a point.

Don't let fear drive us.

Totally different scenario. Demons are one things man and free will a whole different animal.

I've seen stuff like that happen too. What does that have to do with someone standing over your bed in the middle of the night ready to send you to your Maker?

Excellent advice for Spiritual folks, but it probably wouldn't work for some around here for the same reason it didn't work in Acts 19.

Acts 19:14 -16

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
