There has been no Legit documented case where the patriot act has been used to wrongly prosecute or persecute someone.

Considering that it’s use is highly classified that means very little. In addition the issue isn’t so much it’s use in prosecution. The issue is that they have no right to tap my telephone or monitor my communication with anyone I choose to communicate with no matter where they live or where they’re from. I’m a free citizen. They need a warrant expressing probable cause and exactly what and who they’re looking for. The Patriot Act eviscerates our 4th Amendment protections.
Amendment IV
[Persons and houses to be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures.]
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The Patriot Act allows them to monitor you without an official warrant. Please note, as we speak there are individuals being held indefinately who have yet to be charged or have their day in court.
